FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Same day Elopement in Asheville - $150. Wedding in Asheville $275 Rehearsal in Asheville - $75 Travel to locations over 20 miles from Asheville incurs a travel fee.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Couples will contact me by phone, email or Facebook messages on my Heartlightwedding facebook page. We will talk about the date, the type of wedding they are having and where the wedding will be. If I have the date available for their wedding, we will set up a time to meet in person or we will have a long phone conversation to discuss the deposit and the fee. Once they have secured their wedding date on my calendar via deposit, I create a contract and email it to the couple. They also receive a selection of beautiful ceremonies. They may choose one of the ceremonies or use them as templates to create their own ceremony. I am available to work with couples creating a ceremony that is personalized with stories of how they met, they courtship, funny stories and any other elements they want to include in the ceremony. A few days before the wedding I receive their final copy of the ceremony. I arrive 1/2 hour before the ceremony. If they have chosen to hire me for the rehearsal, there is an extra charge. I travel to the site of the rehearsal and run the wedding party through the steps of the ceremony. Wedding rehearsals are one hour.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a degree in comparative religion and was ordained a non-denominational minister after completing my studies at St. John's. While there are no continuing education credits required to be a wedding officiant, Rev. Tom and I take classes and workshops on a variety of subjects from soulful communication, contemporary weddings and sacred ceremony. We are always interested in expanding our self-awareness as knowing ourselves helps us to know and appreciate others and bring joy and balance to their wedding day and ceremony.
