I love what I do! Through a blend of engagement, enthusiasm, humor, and inspiration, I encourage youth and adults to embrace their uniqueness, enjoy their journey, and never give up! Based in Raleigh, I will travel anywhere to inspire audiences (while making them laugh) at career expos, colleges, companies, conferences, youth organizations, and various other settings. If you have an upcoming event, let's talk! Testimonials: “Within the opening moments of a seminar Dan Galloway is facilitating, you recognize this will be a memorable event! Dan has a gift for engaging his audience and stimulating interaction among participants.” – Sara Marion “Dan’s unique perspectives on so many things help people to break through their paradigms into a new realm of thinking about their life and situation.” – Sheyenne Kreamer Speaking Engagements: Youth My love for inspiring youth began in a full-time Career Services role at the University of Central Florida (UCF) in which I educated students on a variety of career management topics through individual coaching and guest speaking engagements at fraternities, sororities, classes, and clubs. While at UCF, my dedication to making a difference was recognized when I received a nomination as a Student Affairs Outstanding Service Award Finalist. In addition to impacting the lives of students at UCF, I have inspired students as a guest speaker and a Continuing Education class instructor at Duke University, North Carolina State University, Wake Tech Community College, and Wake Forest University. Speaking Engagements: Adults For more than 20 years, I served as a Workshop Facilitator at Right Management, a globally recognized career transition (outplacement) firm. In this role, I traveled throughout multiple states conducting Career Transition workshops designed for professionals in a variety of industries whose jobs were affected by downsizing. In addition to facilitating workshops and giving talks on college campuses, I have been a guest speaker at programs offered through Wake County Lifelong Learning, the YMCA, the Capital Area Workforce Development Board, and the Raleigh Convention & Visitor’s Bureau. One of my most exciting experiences took place in a 24-hour period in which I delivered two keynotes on opposite coasts; the first in California, the second in North Carolina. Adversity A cornerstone of inspirational speaking is persevering through adversity. At age six, I was the sole witness to my adoptive dad’s life-ending heart attack. As childhood progressed, I was bullied, nearly drowned in the Atlantic ocean, sustained a concussion playing basketball, and miraculously survived a major car accident. In my ever-evolving journey, I have come to manage and embrace the unique dynamics of ADHD, but only after experiencing countless valuable lessons along the way as a job candidate, employee, entrepreneur, and human in general. It's been an extremely wild and crazy ride.In my first semester of college, I was kept on edge constantly by a roommate who repeatedly tried to light me on fire! In an ever-evolving journey, I have come to manage and embrace the unique dynamics of ADHD, but only after enduring countless lessons along the way as a job candidate, employee, entrepreneur, and human in general. In 2016, I went on a quest to learn more about my biological background and discovered some startling revelations. My life truly has been an extremely wild and crazy ride. Recruiting Background Prior to my career in speaking and career coaching, I worked closely with various HR leaders and department managers in employee recruitment capacities at three tourism industry leaders: SeaWorld Orlando, Universal Studios, and Hilton (Disney Resort). Education & MBTI My Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications with an emphasis in Public Communications & Human Relations was earned at Western Illinois University. Additionally, I am certified in the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) through CPP, Inc. The MBTI is a time-tested assessment that I thoroughly enjoy incorporating into workshops on a variety of personal and professional development topics.See more
