Introduction: I am an Accredited Dog Training Instructor and I help you with any issues you and you best friend are having. My goal is to make sure you stay best friends. In addition to my previous experience, I have received 120 hours of training in a curriculum which included: Canine Behavior, Learning Theory ("How Dogs Learn"), Problem-Solving, Classroom Management, Equipment, Handling Skills and more. I have hands-on experience with a local rescue group (Tri-County Animal Rescue) using rescued dogs to demonstrate my positive training methods, behavior assessments and handling skills. My mission as a dog trainer is to provide positive, effective training and to help build trusting relationships between dogs and their owners. I am positive with my methods of training, I can help control the number of animals sent to shelters due to behavior issues. My training and behavior experiences have covered the entire spectrum from household pets to shelter animals. My straightforward teaching techniques make learning to train your dog easy and fun for both of you. I love my dogs and it is a dream of mine to be a full time dog trainer. I am willing to go and do whatever it takes to make this happen. There is no place to far to help someone in need. I have worked with a number of families providing obedience training for their diabetic service dogs. In 2011, my husband was paired with a 12 week old Diabetic Alert Dog. Radar was fully trained in scent detection, but we needed assistance in the area of obedience and public access training. Rodney came to our home on many occasions and trained me on how to handle a puppy that was determined to take me where he wanted me to go. Rodney also provided training to ensure that my husband's service dog could pass the Public Access Test. Four years later, we remain grateful to him for making those stressful first years manageable. Rodney has a firm, but gentle style that demands immediate respect. He loves the animals he works with (and most of the humans, too), We hear compliments frequently about how well-behaved our 110 lb Chocolate lab is...and we have Rodney to thank for that. I highly recommend Rodney for obedience training and public access training for service dogs.
