Todd’s team did a great job. They removed popcorn ceilings for our entire house including closets. The project did take a little longer than expected, but they were flexible with our needs, moved our stuff around as needed and worked late to finish the job. It was a messy project while living here for a week, but it looks great now!

We purchased a house in South Central Charlotte and are living in a hotel while we get it ready to move in. A major task was to remove the popcorn from all of the ceilings in the house. After reaching out for this service on Thumbtack, I received a quick response from Todd the owner of Allied Painting. He quickly provided a bid to not only to remove all of the popcorn (roughly 1800 square feet), but also to repaint the kitchen, main living area, and hallway of the house, and to patch walls that had been cut into during re-plumbing of the house. We considered one other bid, but selected Allied based on the friendliness, competence and experience displayed by Todd. The major part of the work took seven days. Each day Todd and his team punctually showed up to work. Todd was very good about communicating what was going on and what to expect each day, and he responded promptly to my texts and phone calls. He and his team worked hard. He is customer-satisfaction oriented; at the appropriate times, I was able to review the work and note areas requiring touch up. Shortly into the work we added the laundry room to the areas to be worked on, in addition to popcorn removal and repainting, we needed the cabinets over the washer/dryer to be moved higher. Todd’s team took on that work as well. We are very pleased with the results of the entire job. A huge amount of work was accomplished completely within a couple of weeks at a very reasonable price. I spoke with Todd, who not only listened attentively to my request but also offered insightful suggestions about additional details I’d need before moving forward. His questions helped me follow up with my realtor, clarify key points, and streamline the project to keep it cost-effective. The quote was reasonable and aligned with others I’d received, but what set Todd apart was his dual expertise in painting and real estate. He went above and beyond by offering to coordinate related home repair tasks needing to happen that same week. In our case, he arranged for a glass company to quote and replace a broken window, connected us with a countertop specialist who provided cleaner for stain removal and a quote to restore our marble island, and even facilitated carpet stain removal in two rooms. Todd provided a clear project timeline and stayed on track throughout. He communicated quickly whenever clarification was needed and kept me updated on both the painting progress and the additional maintenance tasks. He was also on-site to answer questions from a potential buyer regarding paint-related concerns, which were incredibly helpful. The painting was finished right on schedule and executed with stunning precision and artistry. I’d absolutely hire them again—not just for their excellent paint work, but for how smoothly they helped me navigate the stress of selling my home. Their skill and support were invaluable.
