FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our pricing is based on scope, complexity, level of finish, and the amount of planning and coordination a project requires. We do not position ourselves as the lowest-cost contractor, and we typically are not the right fit for clients looking for quick patchwork or price-only comparisons. Most of our work involves custom homes, major remodeling, additions, structural changes, and higher-end residential or boutique commercial projects, so pricing is developed around the actual needs of the project rather than generic square-foot shortcuts. For qualified projects, we usually begin with an initial conversation, then determine whether the next step is a site visit, budgeting discussion, or preconstruction phase. Our goal is to provide realistic pricing and a well-managed process, not an artificially low number that changes later.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We start with an initial conversation to understand the project scope, location, timeline, budget range, and whether design or permitting may be involved. From there, we determine whether the project is a good fit for our company and whether the next step should be a phone consultation, site visit, or preconstruction discussion. For larger or more complex projects, we take a planning-first approach. That may include feasibility review, design coordination, budgeting guidance, scheduling logic, and permit preparation before construction begins. This helps avoid misunderstandings and reduces costly changes later. Once scope is clearly defined, we move into proposal or preconstruction agreement, depending on the project. Our process is built around communication, clarity, and disciplined execution from the beginning.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
DEAS Construction operates as a licensed general contractor, and our work is grounded in real-world construction experience, project coordination, building systems knowledge, and ongoing involvement in the field. Our background includes hands-on experience with residential and commercial construction, structural scope, remodeling, additions, custom building, finish execution, and project planning. We also work within the requirements of licensed construction practice in North and South Carolina, including coordination with engineers, architects, permitting departments, and trade professionals. In this business, formal credentials matter, but so does judgment, field awareness, sequencing, and the ability to manage complexity properly. That combination is a big part of how we approach every project.
