- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Interior Painting: Walls: $1.25-$1.50 per sq ft Ceilings: $1.00-$1.25 per sq ft Trim: $.75-$1.00 per sq ft (Price ranges reflect any potential repair work, labor, and/or cost of material) Cabinet Painting: $60-$75 per door $35-$50 per drawer (Price range reflects sizes of doors and drawers, existing finish on the cabinets, and color selection.) Deck Staining: $2.00-$3.00 per sq ft (Price range reflects type of stain to be applied, amount of prep work required which includes pressure washing and/or sanding, in addition to labor and material cost.)
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I prefer to schedule a in-person meeting with the client to walk through and discuss the full scope of the work they want estimated. After a quote is worked up, and if the customer approves price, then scheduling is determined. Depending on overall size of a job, a 15% deposit is made to cover cost of materials.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I started learning how to paint when I was 15 years old. Mostly doing small projects around my own house, and would take on the occasional small job for a neighbor. I started my professional career in the paint industry working for Sherwin-Williams. I worked for the company for around 2 years and gathered extensive knowledge related to all types of paint and stain products. I then decided to explore the contracting side of the paint world and worked for a local painting contractor for 3 years learning all aspects of a successful painting business. I started TruCoat Painting in 2018, and haven’t looked back!
