What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Customer Service is very important to me. I like to build a relationship from the start and find out what the customer is looking for from my services. Asking such questions as "what will the crowd be like at this event" , and "is there any specific music you would like played at this event?"
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been a music engineer and producer for over 15 years . Music has been my entire life all the way back to when I was a child. Music has been my sole career since 2010 and it's been my only job source since.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your service? If so, please share the details here.
Depending on location and travel and equipment needed, prices do vary. My base rate is $75/HR .
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've always been in the music scene. I started with playing Trumpet, then guitar, then piano. I was also a computer engineer and network engineer, so I put the 2 together, and became a Music Engineer. I was always in the clubs and in the dj booths, so finally one day I bought my own equipment and it took off from there.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I've worked with crowds of all different types of ethnicity and culture. I'm very diverse and can adapt to any culture and music need from any crowd from all genres of music world wide.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I am currently Engineering and Djing for an artist out of Charlotte NC, named Yung Reason. We've been working together for over 2 years now.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
You need diversity. If there are multiple cultures in the crowd, then the DJ needs to be able to acknowledge that and know what to play to please everyone in the crowd to guarantee that everyone will have a great time and get along together.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Think about what type of crowd you will have. Also the size of the venue, the equipment that will be needed for the DJ to bring and the travel expenses.
