I have been a pianist since 1974, celebrating 52 years! and teaching since 2005, it is who I am. I live for music! I feel it's important for me to pass the gift that was instilled in me by my first music instructor, Sonny Harris. You will not only learn classical but also learn the blues, jazz, latin, rock, pop and even learn how to compose your own music and learn how to improvise. My studio is located in the STEELE CREEK area (South Charlotte) it is a modern,professional, and relaxed enviorment.You will learn how to read music correctly but you will also learn how to feel music and understand the workings of how everything fits together, this is where the magic happens for you will be able to start the process of composing, improvising and truly discovering yourself as a musician!

Mr. Dan is amazing teacher, he is extremely patient and he puts a lot of effort into planing each lesson. The most impressive part is he takes the time to understand what your goals are, and how you are going to apply these to your music. The plan Mr. Dan develops aligns with those goals. Mr. Dan is extremely organized and each week provides you with a detailed breakdown for practice and how to be prepared for the next week. I'm one month in to lessons and couldn't be more pleased. I am much further along that I thought would be possible in a month. If you are looking for pianolessons, Mr. Dan should be at the top of your list. With his extensive experience, patience, teaching style, and organization Mr. Dan prepares you with all you need to learn piano, the rest is up to you (practice and reps). Our 8 year old had no prior experience with playing an instrument and he has been really engaged in our lessons with Mr. Dan. The lessons are tailored to his learning ability and Mr. Dan is very kind and kid friendly. We look forward to continuing pianolessons with him! Highly recommend!

Mr Dan has done a great job teaching my granddaughter! Has only been about 6 months and I can't believe how much she has learned already! He uses different tyes of music and even works on chord recognition. Overall I'm very pleased with her progress.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Set up a free trial lesson, and if you like it, we will both take a look at the best possible schedule for you and get you started right away. If it's not for you, there's no obligation.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Studied music theory, improvisation, and jazz at the Robert S Harris music academy 6 years. Played professionally from 1976 to 1998 and had further studies with Claire Ritter in 2001. For most of my life, I have been playing music for 50 years and counting! It's been a blessing and to pass the gift to others even more so.
