About
Our goal is to help others learn how to enjoy music, specifically by playing the violin; and we are absolutely committed to helping my students set and achieve their own goals. We love guiding my students on their journey to success, whether it be learning how to play a favorite song, winning a competition, or getting that spot in an orchestra. At Boruff Violin Studio, our teaching philosophy is predicated on understanding the "why's" before undertaking the "how's" of violin technique. If you're interested in learning to play the violin, there's no better time to start then now!

Eric is so great with my 5 year old as he is starting to learn the violin. Even with online lessons, Eric is engaging on the level that my son needs. He has a great method for teaching children and gives the perfect amount of information for each lesson.
As an older student taking lessons myself from Eric, I am impressed by his ability to identify where my needs are and give me pointers. I'm looking forward to continuing our lessons!
Details: Younger than 6 years old • No formal training; some self-taught experience • No, the student cannot read music • What the teacher recommends • Rock • Blues • Classical • Folk • Yes, the student has a violin • 30 minutes • At the pro’s location • My home, venue, etc.

After recently moving to Charlotte I decided to take up violinlessons again, I'm a very novice beginner. Eric has been a wonderful instructor, and is enthusiastic about what he teaches. He's very good at explaining the nuances of why and how you do certain things while still helping with the "big picture". He is my third instructor and I finally feel like I'm learning a lot and learning it correctly.

He is much better than former teacher 15-20 years ago. He is patient and I very much like the Suzuki method that he uses. I can sincerely recommend him to anyone. And I am 64 years old, so it's a little harder for me than a younger person. I do play other stringed instruments but they all have frets, which is quite different!
