Same-Sex Wedding Officiant
Stephanie did a great job officiating our wedding at Daniel Stowe. She took time to meet with us to have it exactly as we wanted. I would highly recommend Stephanie!Jun 16, 2016Verified
On September 21, 2013, Reverend Stephanie Sebero performed our wedding ceremony and, without a doubt, she exceeded our expectations and made our wedding an absolutely memorable occasion! She was easy to work with, worked closely with us to craft the perfect ceremony that fit our personalities, and delivered that ceremony in a way that was fun and laidback, yet respectful and sentimental. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone without any hesitation! Finding a minister was a terribly daunting task for my husband and me. Both of us consider ourselves Christian, but I have been more on the agnostic scale for many years and did not want an overly Christian ceremony. My husbands family, however, are very religious and early on in the process we knew it would be hard to find an officiant that met our needs of having a low-key Christian wedding that focused more on who we are, rather than spiritual matters but was Christian enough for our family. Over months of searching, we contacted countless officiants: everything from ministers with actual churches to secular internet-ordained officiants. And we met with no fewer than five of these before realizing that Stephanie met our needs perfectly. From our first meeting, I felt extremely comfortable with Stephanie. We explained what we wanted in a wedding and she crafted a beautifully sentimental ceremony that was traditional, but relaxed. However, a little over a month before the wedding date, my fiancé and I changed our minds and decided to throw traditions out the window. I rewrote large portions of the ceremony (especially the vows) to make it geeky, highly personalized, and witty. I was afraid Stephanie would be offended that I rewrote most of the ceremony that she undoubtedly spent a lot of time on. However, to my surprise, she loved the humor and was excited that we made it so personal! She also offered up other suggestions that fit the mood of the ceremony perfectly and she worked closely with us (over email and several in-person meetings) to iron out the last minute details. Despite our venue being a little far away, Stephanie didnt even hesitate to come to our rehearsal. She also arrived with time to spare to both the rehearsal and wedding. The ceremony went perfectly and with us being two bundles of nerves, her relaxed delivery and demeanor helped reduce our stress levels and keep us on track even when were putting rings on the wrong fingers! As for price (yes, I was worried about it too when I was searching dont be ashamed! LOL!) her prices were actually extremely affordable compared to the others we interviewed. But considering all the time and attention she gave us, she certainly didnt skimp us on service! During the months after the wedding, we have had countless people enthusiastically tell us that our wedding was truly the best one they have ever been too. And we know that the ceremony had a large hand in that, because its fun atmosphere set the mood for the rest of the night. We just loved the fact that Stephanie didnt even mind that we included a reading from a childrens book (which we asked her to do story time style) and she did a phenomenal job quoting the priest in The Princess Bride with the same Elmer Fudd-like speech impediment! However, even though our ceremony ended up being a bit silly, I know that Reverend Stephanie would have done an equally fantastic job with the traditional ceremony she originally wrote for us. Whether your ceremony needs are religious, inter-religious, quasi-religious, secular, non-traditional, sentimental, or lighthearted I would whole-heartedly recommend her because she is so flexible and easy to work with, as well as being a wonderful, kind, open-minded and awesome person. We are so thankful to have discovered her!Jan 1, 2014
We had the most wonderful ceremony thanks to Stephanie. She made it fun and silly and beautiful and she puts so much love and heart into what she does. She respected my religion (Jewish) to the fullest that not only did she include and make room for our blessings but she even has used respectful wording which showed how absolutely considerate she is. I don't think it could have gone any better. We had our wedding in the comfort of our own home and she made us feel like we were the only two people in the room. Thank you Stephanie for being so patient with us and helping us through everything. We HIGHLY recommend this amazing woman!Jun 3, 2017Verified

- What types of customers have you worked with?I love working closely with clients to get to know them as individuals and as couples. In this way I am able to create customized, personalized, and sacred ceremonies just for them. Weddings with me as your officiant/minister are unlike anything read straight from a book. This is your time, your day, done your way. I offer my guidance. I listen to what you want and then craft a ceremony based on those things. I do most of the work but you are involved and we all are definately benefited with the outcome of a beautiful ceremony! I love what I do!
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?Check out references and then go with your gut! If what I or someone else presents to you looks good and more importantly feels good then go for it! If it doesn't feel right, let it go.
