Pruitt's Voice & Piano Studio

Introduction: I am a music education and vocal performance graduate from UNC Chapel Hill. I have taught voice lessons for male and female voices for four years and have recently begun teaching beginner piano students. I sing as a baritone, but I primarily sing as a countertenor, or a male mezzo-soprano which allows me to teach both males and females effectively. I have a background in singing opera, art song, musical theater, and of course Disney music and I am comfortable teaching all of those. I enjoy working with students who are eager to learn and grow as musicians. I focus on building technique and strengthening the voice while maintaining a fun atmosphere. I believe singing comes from the heart and should be fun, but I also believe it requires discipline. For my piano students, I have been playing piano since the fourth grade and love to play. I play classically, but enjoy playing music from many genres. I believe pianists must have a foundation of technique and I would be glad to help beginners start their journey on such a beautiful instrument.
