FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I try to keep my pricing simple and affordable. My usual rate is $150 per hour, with a minimum of 4 hours ($600). This costs includes my time to set up and tear down which is approximately an hour before and after the time I am requested to play. I have the ability work with the customer for better rates, more options, and payment plans in an effort to keep the costs affordable and provide 5-star service.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Growing up my father was in charge of playing music for my mother's Halloween work party and hayride. We started off with a CD player and case of CDs. We then started using two laptops. I decided to continue on my own later using digital mediums to play music for events for friends and family. After making some money I invested in professional equipment and put it to use by hosting my own parties and putting myself out for hire for other events. I began hosting karaoke at a local bar which gave me more experience with dealing with music and customer relations.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Most often I have been requested for weddings, parties, cookouts, and promotional events, fundraisers. Music is all a part of the fun. Most of my customers have come to know me as a DJ who can really keep the crowds pumped up because of my direct, 1-on-1 interaction with the guests and ability to read the crowd.
