As a property manager, it is always exciting to find a contractor that knows what they are doing. A & J Workman Home Improvement has been one of the most punctual and responsive contractors that I have worked. While I am not physically in the area of the property I manage, Amber and James kept me informed through text, pictures and phone calls the progress of the project. I would highly recommend A & J Workman Home Improvement to anyone!

They are friendly and are affordable however that is the only positive thing we took away from our experience. They arrived 2 1/2 hours after the agreed upon time, lacked proper tools to complete the job (ex: a saw guide for straight cuts), brought two different type of wood slabs, did not seal the wood prior to job, didn’t bring silicone to seal around sink, cut for the sink leaving wood jagged, cut smaller surface areas crooked and finally brought a slab too short for the cabinet length. I understand that I didn’t hire a professional company but some common courtesy and honesty would’ve been appreciated if they didn’t know how to do my requested job properly. Would not recommend their work for kitchens.

A&J Workman Home Improvement LLC's reply
Hi Victoria, we are sorry that you didn't have a great experience with our company. We accept full responsibility for the mistakes made on our end and again we apologize that we weren't able to give you a finished product at the end of the day. This doesn't happen often and that is why we offered to come back out and make things right on your job. If you ever want to reconsider using our company for any work you need done we will offer you up to 70% off cost of labor. We know this doesn't make up for the mistakes and doesn't replace the money you had to spend to buy another countertop, but we wanted to offer and assure you would have a better experience in the event you ever did use our company again.

This guy is too expensive for a handyman. $250 per hour. Almost like a Union carpenter. You can find someone cheaper at Home Advisors.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Prices vary and are subject to each individual project. If a customer has a bigger project such as a remodel or flooring work we provide a 10% discount to military and law enforcement.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

After a customer reaches out I typically try to reach out the same day if available. If I need more information about a project I will ask all questions then set up a time to take a look at said project. After taking a look I will provide an estimate. For projects that I don't need to go see on site I will provide an estimate after I have collected all the details. When a customer accepts my bid I set up a date and time that works for both me and the customer and go out to perform the work needed.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

Real Estate Companies, Homeowners, and Prospective Buyers of homes
