Timeline of work to be done:
After having a company back out due to a heavy work load and no time to complete ours, I contacted Ben to see if he would be willing and able to do the work we needed within a short time frame as we were moving in on the 23rd. Ben was gracious enough to meet me at our home on Thursday, August 14th, for a walk through. While here, he noticed a strong pet smell from the previous owner's pets and spoke with me about the carpets and said he could have someone out the next day to have them cleaned and deodorized. Yes, he does carpets too! That was immediately agreed upon and then later that evening, as promised, he sent an estimate on the painting project and we accepted his proposal.
Description of work:
In addition to having the carpets cleaned in 7 bedrooms, 2 stairwells, and 4 additional living areas, they were to paint ceilings, trim and walls in office, dining room, entry, downstairs bath, downstairs bedroom, den, kitchen, 2 stairwells, large playroom, bedroom and bathroom. Then we added to our contract our master bedroom and bathroom, upstairs hallway, bathroom and all closets in rooms that we painted ourselves.
The carpets were cleaned on Friday and over the weekend we noticed an even stronger smell of pet urine in several rooms. Ben sent his cleaning crew out a second time later in the week, at no extra charge, to retreat specific areas. After the second time, we were both satisfied with the results. We knew that he would not be able to have his painting crew start until Tuesday, August 19th, and Tuesday morning they promptly arrived and got started prepping walls. The gentlemen that Ben has working with and for him are top notch, very polite and hard workers. They had a lot of work to do here and worked odd hours throughout the week to make sure everything was done in time and to our satisfaction. The quality of work met our expectations and then some.
From our perspective:
Would we hire BWH Services again? Yes.
Would we recommend Ben? Absolutely, without a doubt.
What went wrong? Nothing.
Ben saw a need - we were without painters and were moving in a week's time - and while he knew it would be pushing it to get the work done, he had faith in his crew(s) that they could do it and they did. Ben is a stand up guy, very polite and engaging. It's doesn't seem to be just business with him, but about building relationships to help meet customers needs for now and for the future.
