"I have been taking dance lessons from Sergei for almost 6 months. He gives more than 110% in every class, and is very patient and encouraging when teaching. Ballroom and Latin dancing are very challenging, especially when working on technique, and Sergei has a great way of keeping it fun while learning the difficult steps, technique and routines.
I was a trained ballet dancer, and never in a million years did I ever think I could or would tackle Latin dancing. He has taken me out of my comfort zone, taught me that my hips CAN move, and created a love for Latin dancing that I never knew I had. I have a long way to go, and progress takes time, but I look forward to my classes every week with Sergei.
I have only and will only take lessons from Sergei. He is sincere and passionate, and I feel strongly that he wants to see me succeed with my dancing abilities as much as I do. I appreciate that Sergei does not always tell me what I want to hear, but rather gives me feedback that challenges me and helps me to become a better dancer. No matter my mood at the start of class; happy or on the verge of tears from a stressful day, I always leave my dance lessons with Sergei smiling and feeling good! :)
I teach middle school students etiquette, manners and basic ballroom dance skills. My goal one day is to show them the dances they learn in the advanced form to help increase their appreciation for dancing and for what they are learning.
I recommend Sergei as a teacher for all levels of ballroom and latin dancing. He teaches in a small, quiet studio, and is flexible with scheduling. I sincerely feel like I am a valued student to Sergei; not just a number.
