James had to order the trees that I wanted planted but as soon as they came in he scheduled a time to come out to plant them. He answered any questions that I had. He is very professional and I would recommend him without reservations. I will be contacting him for my lawncare needs.

We are very pleased with the job Tapps Lawn Care and Landscaping did for us ! Trey was punctual responding to our request to discuss taking out our former front yard flower bed and changing it into a lower maintenance arrangement of azelias and a Japaneze maple. We loved the plants he selected and his assistant, Keith, did a fantastic job of spacing them in the existing garden plot after tilling up the soil. Trey was also concerned about finishing the job in a timely fashion so arranged to come out a day earlier than we had planned to avoid the rain that was forecast. Trey also provided some helpful advice for maintaining the new plants while Keith did a great job spreading pine needles across several beds of established plantings in our front yard. We would not hesitate to call on Tapps Lawn Care and Landscaping the next time we need assistance with any special plans for our yard. These new plantings make a lovely statement and we are sure they will turn many heads! April W.

What most impressed me is that Hiram came to look at the job before confirming his quote. He discovered that the grass was too wet and high and it would be better to wait n extra day before things dries out. The other companies did't care enough to find what the job really took.

I contacted Eric to manicure a very overgrown property; our transaction was done remotely by texting via Thumbtack. He responded immediately and asked if he could look at the property first which was a great idea considering the level of care, and equipment, it needed for reclamation. We negotiated a very fair price, he did the work he said he would do and the result was wonderful! I highly recommend Eric Brown for lawn maintenance, aggressive clearing and any other lawn care needs. I believe he is honest and would disclose if he could not successfully do a project to the highest standards.

Andres' Lawn Care is working the yard right now. Mr. Andres is polite and called several times to let us know exactly when he was coming. He also contacted us within 20 min. of my initial query to Thumbtack. Standing mower and extra man for weed eating as well as leaf blowing debris = $40 for our medium sized back and front yards. HIGHLY recommend!

Jeremy did a wonderful job landscaping the front of our home. He removed shrubs and bushes, taking care not to damage remaining plants. Jeremy also added lighting to the front of our house and under a few trees. It really adds to the character of our home. Jeremy is knowledgeable and very easy to work with.

Jim and Team were a pleasure to work with! They showed up as expected and completed the work as agreed, and even helped with a few extra things! The yard looks so much better and feels safer! I appreciate that Jim took extra care in researching an old family tree to ensure he did what was best for it. Would definitely use them again!

H&H met every expectation with professionalism and quality for my money.. this was an urgent job as a large limb or two had fallen off a tree in a yard we were trying to sell! Open house was on Sunday and the limb fell Friday night! They were prompt and efficient.. thorough and kind... took care of the limbs, cleaned up the yard as if it never happened, and the price was fair and reasonable.. they are the BEDT... 5 stars!!!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to have landscaping done?

Professional landscaping can help reinvent your outdoor space, boost your curb appeal and get a major return on investment with. Landscaping can encompass anything from adding new plants, trees and shrubs, to leveling the ground and laying sod for a lawn, to building in hardscaping such as sidewalks, water features or retaining walls. The national average landscaping price is $10,160. Landscaping prices can be far lower (with hourly rates ranging from $50 to $150) if you’re only seeking professional help with softscaping or seeking consultation on landscape design. Softscaping means adding or changing horticultural elements, such as planting a garden or adding a hedge. Hardscaping is where costs can really start to rise. Hardscaping requires labor and heavy equipment to excavate the earth; you may need to pour concrete, or you may need a pro who can transport and place gravel and other inorganic elements. Your total landscaping cost will vary based on the amount of work you want done, how much labor is required, and the cost of the materials you are using. A good rule of thumb for a major landscaping project, according to the American Society of Landscape Architects, is to budget 5 percent to 10 percent of the value of your home.

How much does it cost to landscape your front yard?

Prices for landscaping your front yard can range from a few hundred dollars to tens of thousands of dollars, depending on the scale of your front yard project. Your landscaping price will reflect how much change you implement, how much labor is required, and the cost of materials.

Landscaping is typically made up of softscaping and hardscaping. Softscaping refers to selecting trees, bushes, flowers and plants to achieve a desired aesthetic and to meet goals such as having a drought-tolerant yard. Hardscaping refers to moving earth, installing structures, and putting in decorative stonework, sidewalks or lighting. For softscaping, you may want to hire a landscape designer to consult on your plants and layout, and then do the digging and planting yourself or hire a gardner to handle the heavy lifting. A landscape designer’s hourly rate may range from $50 to $150 or more. If you want a turnkey approach, meaning someone who works with you to create the vision and then executes all the work, landscaping pricing will typically come down to a cost per square foot rather than an hourly rate. It’s a solid investment: Great landscaping can add up to 28 percent value to your home.
