Matilda handles all of my (messy) bookkeeping on a weekly basis for my small business. She is very detail oriented, super organized and her positive, friendly disposition is an added bonus. She has saved me a lot of time and energy over the past four years. I definitely would be lost without her bookkeeping services at this point.

I am a small growing business owner that knows better than to try to keep my own books. I have to track sales, inventory, expenses and need a viable p & l at the end of the year. After meeting with Susie and checking references I felt confident she would be able to help me with getting 2014 wrapped up. My 2014 paperwork is organized and ready for the accountant. Susie has also helped me by making suggestions that can help my business grow in 2015 and on. She's organized, genuine, understandable and available. I highly recommend her!

Me and my boy friend run our private food business and use this firm for our accounting and tax filing. They are a highly professional and well managed firm and we are quite happy with their services so far. We first started using Legacy Tax & Resolution Services three years ago when my bf got in trouble for not filing his taxes. They helped resolve his taxes and also reduced the total tax liability. We used them later to help us set up the business and get our license and accounting practices in order. One thing that I really want to stress is that they are very thorough and ask a lot of questions about the business operations and how much money we expected to make. I thought that was weird but my boyfriend says they wanted to see how they could save us money.

Curtis Daye was able to get me back $800 more than prior quotes on my refund due to the fact that he knew about refunds for mileage over gas receipts. My last tax preparer did not know that. I now wonder how much money I could have been getting back all of these past years! After 20+ years in business, I now see how you got the great reputation that you have. Thanks Mr. Daye!

We can help with setting up and all your business leads. We do income tax preparation, tax resolution with IRS, payroll, and mental health business needs setups.

I have twelve years of experience as a bookkeeper. Let me take care of your bookkeeping, so you can go back to what you do best — your business.

This is a small mobile business service center that is big on quality and accuracy. We provide accounting, bookkeeping, tax preparation (flat fee), document assistance preparation, and small business startup assistance to individuals and small- to medium-sized businesses in need of a little extra boost to help guide them in the right direction or perhaps give them a different perspective on a plan or vision. Our service center is mobile to make it convenient for our clients to be serviced at times that are the most convenient for them and at affordable costs. I have a passion for taxation and small business development. That is why I have become so involved in helping people achieve their goals as well as educating them on how to strategically better their position financially. It's okay to get a refund, but it's better to know how your tax bracket and how to effective manage tax deductions and credits from year to year to make it work for you. My products and services are comparable to the leading competitors in the industry, but my pricing is much more competitive. I have low, flat-rate pricing and flexible budget plans available.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to hire an accountant?

Accountants’ rates vary based on their education, licenses, experience, and the work for which they are being hired. An accountant may charge an hourly rate when a company or individual needs their services on a short-term basis, such as when performing an audit or requesting assistance setting up a financial database or process. Hourly rates can range as widely as $40 per hour to $300 or more per hour, depending on your geographic location and the accountant. Check out the average hourly rate for accounting services in your region.

Accountants may offer a package rate for weekly, monthly or annual services to reward ongoing customers. Many accountants offer online services where small businesses can access online accounting software and payroll assistance, and the accountant — for a monthly or other recurring fee — provides financial analysis and reporting of their numbers. For basic monthly accounting services, an accountant might charge anywhere from $75 to $500 or more, depending on what was included in a given package, the size of the client’s business, and the complexity of work requested. Nationally, full-time staff accountants earn between $40,000 and $80,000, depending on experience and other factors.

    What is an accountant?

Accountants are financial professionals who have received an accounting degree from a four-year university or college. By trade, accountants prepare, maintain and examine the financial statements of an individual, business or institution. An accountant prepares reports for tax purposes and can also perform audits of public companies. Common tasks include creating budgets, analyzing profits and losses of a company, processing payroll, preparing financial statements for company leadership, and creating and maintaining financial database systems for a company.

Accountants do not automatically have a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation unless they have passed the Uniform CPA Examination and received the proper license. Regardless of whether they are CPA certified or not, accountants can assist businesses and individuals with bookkeeping and financial reporting, while CPAs are more knowledgeable in tax codes as a result of the CPA licensing examination and continuing education requirements. CPAs are also eligible to represent clients before the IRS if audit support is required, while a non-CPA accountant is not. Academic background, years in the field and professional reputation all can affect an accountant’s rates.
