- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to get together with new clients and have a candid conversation to get to know more about them and the event. This discussion can occur over the phone or in-person. Depending on the type of event, I will send the client a questionnaire to find out more about the specifics of the event. For partial and full service weddings, I provide the client with a mock budget containing estimates. This budget can be used by the client throughout the planning process to keep track of expenses and the overall budget.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
After planning my own wedding, I found that I really enjoyed the process and had a passion for planning. I began helping friends and coworkers plan their weddings, and after hearing "you should do this as your job" for the umpteenth time, I decided to follow my passion. From my time in public accounting, I have also planned several corporate and charity events, such as holiday parties and silent auctions.
