FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
With residential customers, I know that most are on a tight budget, and I know how it feels to need to save money! So my basic per hour cost is $30, (rather than my usual $50/hour or more for commercial). Depending on the size and scope of the job, I work with customers on overall pricing... so many times I'll take a cut in that hourly pay to get their pricing down. Keep in mind my experience - 35 years gives much peace of mind that can be priceless.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I really like to meet with a customer to look over and discuss his or her project, and I do this for free, so I really don't send many dollar quotes through Thumbtack. Even though I know it takes up more of my and the customer's time, it's always well worth it for both parties in the end, as it gives a more personalized service that's custom for that project.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In addition to 35 years hands-on experience, I've been a licensed General Contractor for the past 15, so can do anything from installing a new window to a complete remodel or addition.
