My wife and I recently hired Mr. Mort to perform an inspection on our home regarding a potential safety hazard. Mr. Mort showed up 5-10 minutes early, which instantly sets the tone that he cares. He was incredibly friendly and personable from first contact. He explained, in great detail, what he was going to be doing to perform his inspection, what equipment he would be using, and why he was doing these things. He provided a bit of background (he has a truly impressive amount of experience and knowledge in all of the aspects of construction and maintenance that we discussed) and got to work.The inspection was very thorough. It took ~2 hours and was beyond my personal expectations. He remained profession, polite, and an utter joy to work with the entire time. He answered every question my wife and I had along the way in layman's terms.Before leaving, he even investigated a previous repair that we didn't know about to ensure that everything was functioning properly. I have ten years of prior experience in construction and could not have been more impressed with Mr. Mort. I feel like I made a great friend and if/when I ever need any inspection services in the future, I don't have to worry about who I'll call. Let me begin by saying that I highly recommend Jimmy Mort, DCC Inspection Services, for all home inspection needs. Jimmy is extremely professional and a man true to his word. He responds very quickly to emails, texts and phone calls. To this day, months after the inspection, he still reaches out to see if I have any follow-up questions or if there's anything else that he can assist with.Jimmy came highly recommended through my realtor, as I was in the process of buying my very first home in Ayden, North Carolina. I had a residential inspection, radon testing and sewer inspection done. Jimmy encouraged me to follow him through the process, explained what he was doing and took the time to answer my questions. He was extremely thorough and his attention to detail was impeccable. Jimmy is a seasoned experienced inspector and I certainly benefited from his knowledge. In addition to that, he utilized state-of-the-art equipment and technology, which gave me a much more detailed understanding of the nuances of this beautiful home. The inspection reports were completed within a few days. The reports were very detailed (including photos/videos), very well written and formatted in a manner that was easily understood.
