Top Grade Moving moved my 1300 sq. ft. of furniture, books and other belongings with the same relatively low error rate as movers have in the past whose services were twice as expensive. The company is family-owned and -run, and they moved me with heart. One of the people who helped pack my belongings, for instance, made sure to pack me a go-to make-up and hair-care kit knowing that I would be starting a high-pressure new job two days after moving. The guys who moved the heavy items were managed by a highly competent co-owner, Dennis, and they tried hard to keep my furniture in good shape.
That said, I have several new gashes, cuts and scrapes on my wooden furniture and a number of electronics supplies got bent out of shape to the point where they no longer work. One or two of the heavy-items movers made rookie mistakes to cause some of this damage. Worse, when they ran out of boxes prematurely, they left my printer on the second-floor breezeway of my apartment complex with some moving blankets -- as if to say "you figure this one out." They also left two pictures hanging on the walls, and I ended up having to cram even more stuff into my car than expected.
But most of my belongings got moved safely and everyone was curteous and even friendly. If you need to move on a budget I highly recommend Top Grade Moving, but if you have more money or highly prized furniture, you should probably spend the money to keep it in tip-top shape.
