Dog training type
Board and train at a facility
Truly amazing. My rescue dog has been with Suzannah for a couple months and he is transformed in a way that's almost hard to believe. I think a big thing that separates Suzannah from most other trainers is that she's not just teaching obedience; she's addressing the core emotional issues (using what she calls the "relaxation triad"). And she's supremely skillful at what she does. The experience far exceeded my expectations. I would give a glowing recommendation to anyone.Sep 6, 2019
Amazing! She made everything very very understanding and helped me with my dog I was struggling with pretty bad. He's doing 100x better and she taught me how to continue his training. And helped me not lose hopeJul 4, 2018
Suzannah's vast knowledge of dog behavior and training skills is quite impressive. I have had many conversations with her concerning dog behavior and training and have personally observed her training a scared, timid dog as well as a quite energetic, uncontrolled dog. I am quite impressed seeing the results of that training as those two dogs have come such a long, long way from how they were when I first observed her in action. I highly recommend Synergetic Canine.Oct 19, 2015
Suzi is a such a calm and patient person. She works so well with not only the dogs, but with the people as well. She has such a passion for helping pets and their owners, and really cares about making sure the relationship between the two is strong.Oct 17, 2015
I work for Weber County Animal Services - and while Suzannah was in Utah, she would come in and help me with dogs that I was having trouble with. There were a couple of dogs that I couldn't get out of the kennel because they were too aggressive, and she would work with them through the kennel and get them to come out to us. There were a few that had behavioral issues and she would come in and walk me through how to work with them - whether it was dog-on-dog issues that she would show me how to handle and help fix, or ones that would just randomly turn on me and become aggressive. She would also bring in her wonderful dogs with her and help me dog test some of our dogs that I had a harder time reading and figuring out if they would be okay with other dogs. She also has shown me things that I can take home and use on my own personal pets to help them be better and happier. Thanks to her, so many dogs lives were saved at the shelter - because we were able to help them get to where they needed to be, rather than euthanized because we couldn't help them. She doesn't just help the dogs, but she also helps us as people. She never judges us, or makes us feel stupid for not knowing something. She is AMAZING, to say the least, at what she does. We definitely miss her here in Utah.Jul 4, 2018
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I do not currently offer any discounts, aside from limited time promotions that can be found as they are available on my Facebook page and sometimes website. Programs are often customized per owner and their dog, to make sure you're getting exactly what you need. Often we will start with an in person consultation (although not required), and then I will send you a few program options to go over and review. From there, we make any changes that are necessary before committing to a training & wellness plan.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I don't have a black and white process for anyone, but I ALWAYS start with getting to know you, your dog, and what you're going through so that we can determine if we are a good fit for each other. I want to know that you will walk away happier with your dogs behavior and the experience that you had, and to make sure that happens, it's important to pair owners with the right program for them. A training consultation and behavior evaluation are the first steps, outside of a quick discovery phone call, that will get us started.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have been in the field professionally for 7 years, and handling dogs outside of that for about 2 more years. I started with rescue, shelter, and fostering dogs, then moved into doing behavior evaluations for shelters. I then worked for and with several other industry professionals, doing things from aggression and behavior modification, to general dog daycare and basic obedience. I've worked for some great professionals, and some who showed me what not to do. I continue to attend dog training and behavior workshops (TBTE, among others), dog training conferences (IACP), and work with owners, local pet businesses, and rescues hands on every day.
