We've been looking for a quality carpenter/handy-man since we moved to the area 5 years ago. We finally found a great team with Lucas Outdoor Solutions. They immediately responded to our inquiry and came out to assess this work in a very short time-frame. We had one job (wood rot repair on porch ceiling) and ended up having another one lined up and completed the next day (porch door replacement). The work was done quickly and while we were out of town. Payment and communication was very easy. We'll be using Lucas Outdoor Solutions again! Highly recommend!

Jay was great to work with. We had some specific wood rot areas on the outside of our home that needed repair, and Jay was very prompt to respond to my inquiry on Thumbtack.
He scheduled a time to come out to look at things so he could finalize an estimate. At our request, he did an inspection of our whole home's exterior, finding a number of other areas of wood rot needing attention, which we hadn't even noticed (but were very easy to see once he pointed them out). We asked him to include these in our quote.
Jay provided a detailed estimate, breaking out the costs for labor and materials.
He showed up right on time to do the work, and worked hard for two days getting everything done.
The final invoice contained an itemized list of all materials and their costs, which were less than the estimate for materials, so that was a pleasant surprise.
We were very pleased with the quality of repairs he did, and will definitely be using him again in the future. He is going to be working on several of our neighbors' homes as well.

Jay quoted me on Friday and I had a completely new deck by Wednesday. This was my largest project as a first time homeowner so I was a little nervous but Jay was very easy to work with and even fixed up a few additional things I asked about while he was on site (wood rot on my window sill and a broken fence gate that he’s coming back to fix). I’ll definitely use Jay for any future wood working needs and will hire him to eventually screen in the back deck.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I do have a standard pricing system however each job varies tremendously. I will give electronic quotes, but NO QUOTE WILL BE GUARANTEED UNTIL I HAVE SEEN THE JOB IN PERSON. I do offer in-person free estimates so our company encourages you to take advantage of this opportunity. All of the quotes I give DO NOT include materials unless explicitly stated otherwise in my initial response to you. Please send pictures of your issue if possible.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I really like for the customers to give us a call and discuss what they are wanting done. I will then set up a free consultation at your home to provide a quote free of charge.
