FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My fee structure is quite simple, see below for the (2) options: *Fixed Fee Option: The designer will provide a fixed fee based on the scope of work required for the project. The fixed fee will be billed in four parts over the course of the project. No additional charges apply. (This option is preferred by most). *Hourly Fee Option: The designer charges an hourly fee for time. (This option is recommended for consultations & small projects). **Designer Discount (Included with both options): If the designer receives a discounted rate for merchandise ordered through vendors, as a courtesy & advantage of working with a designer, a discounted rate will be passed on to you as well.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm a member of ASID (American Society of Interior Designers) & The HBA (Home Builders Association). Both organizations provide seminars & continuing education that keeps me up to speed on the latest design trends.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Before she was out of the high-chair, two-year-old Elizabeth kept herself (and the waiters) entertained by drawing pictures on the cafe paper place mats while her parents conversed over dinner. By age seven she selected the fabrics and designed the layout for her bedroom, and by age ten she designed her very own may day dress. Always particular in how things are done, it's safe to say that Elizabeth was destined to be a designer!
