I have been using Andy as my bass teacher since I hired him. I started out every week but then had to move to every other because of work schedule. He is knowledgeable and is able to explain things in a way you understand. He is very flexible and patient.

About

I'm educated in the anatomy of how the voice works. I can help you learn about your instrument and how to make it better by feeling and visualizing what is going on as you sing. If you have damage, i can help you fix it. Whatever you want done, i can help! Its my passion! This is what i do for a living. Not just teach, but i sing/perform for a living and i love what i do. If i can help someone else discover their own voice, my work is done! Love it!

About

I handpick those who help me instruct so that you or your child receives the best instruction. My instructors are degreed professionals with many years of expertise. We create an individualized approach and your own personal curriculum. I personally supervise all of my company's operations and recitals. I am a mother myself, so I understand the viewpoint of children and know how to teach and encourage all levels of learning. Giving children a special skill and sense of accomplishment is a pleasure. I delight in watching a child light up when they play, and I am so proud of them when they achieve.

About

À Deux (or A2 Lessons) is a service that is devoted to bringing aspiring students together with qualified educators in their community. The teachers who work with us are generally independent instructors who use our service for the purpose of web marketing as well as for a form of security verification for students. The teachers who work with A2 are all background screened and go through a process similar to a job application as a quality check, ensuring that they are well qualified and able to meet the students' needs. The vast majority of the cost of lessons goes directly to the teacher and stays in your community! We enjoy bringing quality education to students, and we are confident that you'll enjoy the lessons with our qualified teachers. À Deux was founded by a small group of independent educators with some web marketing skills to help students find the best teachers in their community right away online with minimal effort searching around. We've since swelled our ranks with other teachers, joining as independent members/contractors. We benefit teachers who join us by helping them find students in their communities. We do so by granting teachers access to our centralized organization and marketing strategies. By pooling resources, teachers have more advertising leverage that will give them the exposure they need to make a decent living, doing what they love without wasting valuable time and money trying to figure out how to find students on their own. What we truly love is spreading knowledge, so the more new teachers, students, and communities we can get involved, the better it is for all of us. It is a goal of ours to benefit our teachers, students, and their communities by ensuring that lessons are affordable, that fair rates are paid, and that small businesses can thrive within their communities. Making this happen is what we truly enjoy.

Mr. Messis then continued his graduate studies with a fellowship by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation at Teachers College, Columbia University where he earned an MA in music and music education. After teaching piano and music theory at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music in New York for five years, Mr. Messis attended the Aaron Copland School of Music, City University of NY where he gained an MA in orchestral conducting. He has studied under the supervision and guidance of prominent musicians and teachers, such as George Arvanitakis, Gertraud Kubacsek, Dr. Mark Silverman, Vera Wills, Anthony Newman and Maurice Peress. About

A little of our LMLC story: Jeana and I have been music instructors for over 20 years. We have taught in music stores, in students' homes as well as out of our own home-based music studio. For the last 15 years, our preference has always gravitated towards instructing out of our home-based music studio because of the flexibility it affords us in being able to control the learning atmosphere that the students find themselves in when having their lessons. Quite possibly, you are interested in learning the wonderful language of music or furthering your musical abilities on an instrument. It could be that someone in your family has a burning desire to rekindle those musical embers of time past. You may know of a friend, a family member or even an acquaintance at work who is actively looking for a music teacher in the area for their children or even for themselves. Over the years, we have had the awesome privilege of teaching both young and old the rich language of music, be it on a bass, electric or acoustic rhythm guitar, piano, drums or even vocals. Our adult students have learned the value and reward of playing music even in their adulthood. It is a wonderful way to de-stress as well as give the dormant musical creativity within opportunity to find expression. I've even had adult students come for music lessons who have horror stories of poor music lesson experiences from when they grew up and want to overcome those unhelpful memories that have for whatever reason still gripped them into their adult life. Our mission has always been, 'Enriching the lives of young and old through music.' This still holds true today. We will consider teaching as young as 6 years old as determined on an individual basis. In terms of the music lessons themselves, style of music is broad and varied. Teaching methodologies are based upon the needs and learning styles of each individual student. Whilst individual lessons make up the large percentage of our teaching week, we aren't opposed to various group lessons of varying sizes. Steven and Jeana together offer workshops called "music boot camps" to local churches to help train and equip their musicians to make a "skilled" and not just joyful noise. Steven Holdstock Steven was born and raised in South Africa and began playing the piano at the age of 9. As a result of hard work, natural gifting, and an excellent instructor, Steven began playing professionally at the age of 12 and continued to do so through his teenage years and beyond. At the age of 15, he had completed his grade seven musical proficiency test. He later furthered his studies at the Psalmody Academy for the Performing Arts in South Africa. Steven's love for music did not stop with the piano, and he has ventured into the study of other instruments including, but not limited to, guitar (electric and acoustic), bass guitar, saxophone, etc. His skills really shine through in his ability to teach and inspire others to develop and release the musical giftedness within themselves. He offers private instruction in piano and guitar. Jeana Holdstock Jeana was born and raised in Virginia, USA. Her love for music began at an early age -- after graduating from high school. Jeana studied voice and piano at CFNI, Dallas, TX. Jeana began teaching shortly after graduating from CFNI. She later continued her studies at The Psalmody Academy of Performing Arts in Johannesburg, South Africa (which is where she met her husband). She has continued to hone her skills and teach throughout her adult life. She offers instruction in piano and voice in both private and group setting as well as beginner drums. She also offers group "Music and Movement" classes to the young at heart (preschool through grade 1) to lay a foundation for the love of music.

My daughter is going to Keeley for an audition for college and it's only been two weeks. I am not a professional but I can definitely tell a difference in this short time. My daughter is use to singing in a choir and not solo but she is enjoying her lessons!

I'm only one lesson in, but so far, I would highly recommend Tokyo. He assessed my skills quickly and set me on a clear path, giving me songs to learn that addressed my specific needs... Even provided MP3's so I could play along with the originals! He his not only a gifted guitar player, but a natural teacher who seems to genuinely enjoy the process. Thanks, Toke!

Carol's an excellent instructor. After my first experience with an talented, but unfocused musician who was covering his bills by teaching piano, Carol has been a delightful change. She is structured in her approach and is keen on identifying ways a student can improve. She loves teaching piano and it shows.
