If you are looking for a piano instructor, I'll provide professional service. I've played piano for 30 years. 11 of those years I used the Alfred books. Now, I train primarily using that method. Alfred is an very effective book series for lessons (children and adults). I also enjoy teaching how to play by ear. I make piano lessons enjoyable to where children and adults usually stay with me many years. I coach intermediate and advanced lessons. Let me help you today. If you are looking a voice instructor, I also provide professional service. I enjoy bringing the best out of people's voices (children, youth or adults). If your looking to expand range, improve breathing, and improve overall voice, I can help you. I was able to, with a few of my students, help them sing well enough for American Idol. I also have a recent student that I'm training for "The Voice." Even if that is not your goal, I can help you. I'm new from Oregon. So, most of my past lessons are out of Oregon. I do lessons out of my home (with wife in next room, also if parents need to be in the room I have a couch and chair as well) I am willing to travel for lessons within 25 miles. I have a Bachelor in Science with a major in music. I have 20 years of professional piano playing and singing. I have taught and coached lessons for 16 years.

Handy Guitar

(16 reviews)

What do you love about your job?

The best part of the job is the look on the parents' and kids' faces when the happiness that coincides with learning music! Specifically, some of my happiest moments are when I show up to my lesson and my student has written his or her own song!. This happens a lot with kids under 10, which is a miracle in my eyes.

What or who inspired you to start your own business?

I had a vision that was very specific so I made it happen. I wanted to spread the joy and intellectual growth that is a result of learning music. I have kept my vision simple and my focus on these elements, and it brings me great joy as well. It is a positive feedback loop of joy, creativity, and intellectual growth. I also volunteer, perform, record, and produce music. I owe it all to music. Music is happiness

I'm an adult who started playing bass guitar late in life. My needs for instruction are very specific because I know exactly what my goals and desires are as a musician. Andy listened to what I wanted to accomplish and has tailored his approach to meet my needs specifically. Andy is punctual for all the lessons, and is well prepared. He is a good coach, praising my ability and improvement, while at the same time encouraging areas of weakness and offering suggestions for improvement. When I suggest a song that I want to learn, Andy takes the time to learn the song, and will provide a correct TAB to learn the music from. Andy practices songs that he doesn't know, so he can teach you and show you how the song should be played.
