Tim's Tutoring

Introduction: I tutor all aspects of English -- essay writing, reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, and basic sentence structure. My focus has been with elementary school kids; however, I can easily tutor middle school, high school, and even college-level students. I am experienced, hard working, and receptive to receiving input from parents. I review grammar, parts of speech, assign writing exercises, and explain the benefits of variety in writing. I will review inferences as well as figurative language with the idea of incorporating simile, metaphor, hyperbole and personification into your student's writing. I also have a set program in place that demonstrates strategies for writing better sentences, progressing from grammar school level strategies all the way to high school level strategies, regardless of your student's grade level.
