About
I grew up doing puzzles and disassembling and reconstituting the toaster oven (just ask my dad). I did assembly work through Craigslist L.A. for several years, and now serve multiple homes every week here in Winston Salem and surrounding. I mostly charge a simple $40 an hour with two hour minimum for small jobs. You're paying for the hours and frustration you save by doing it yourself. Large jobs are negotiable.
Give me any household furniture, children's playhouse, or anything else with complicated instructions, and I will take it off your hands and make it into a short, professional job at reasonable cost. For me, this is a fun afternoon! For you, it's a beautiful piece in your home without the headache. I'm a very fast builder - my record is eleven pieces built in a single day.
This is for kits you have bought where "assembly is required" (i.e., I'm not a repairman), but I do tackle disassembly and reassembly. Thanks for using my services.

Puzzle Box did an amazing job putting together 10 pieces of furniture in 7 hours all from a box! I appreciated his work ethic.
If I had one complaint it was that he cut his finger during assembly ( small) but got several spots of blood on a few pieces of furniture that I noticed while cleaning. I gave him a bandaid but when it fell off there was more small spots of blood so didn’t love finding that on a few items. I don’t think he realized. I would use him again and overall he was great!

Puzzle Box's reply
I now have bandaids I bring to every job. Finger cuts are part of the work, but Michelle is correct that I should have my own first aid materials. Have corrected.

In the process of moving into a new place due to some life changes. Ordered a ton of new furniture from Wayfair that required assembly. In an afternoon, Allan assembled two beds (queen and full), dresser, two nightstands, kitchen table and four chairs, and an entertainment center/stand. He’s affordable, fast, professional. Would 100% recommend and hire again.

After I attempted without much success to put together this nightstand and dresser for my elderly father, I decided to give up and attempt to get it done with puzzle box. This gentleman was so kind and so thorough and the outcome was fantastic. 10 out of 10 highly recommended I can't thank you enough!

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Generally, I charge $40 an hour with a two hour minimum for small jobs (you're paying for the time you save, since I'm so quick in and out). Pieces vary so much in complexity.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Clear adequate space and make sure I have strong lighting. Consider where the furniture will go, but also what surface will be best for moving parts around and dealing with small bits. Carpeting can help keep the components safe, but best I not work around thick shag where things can get lost.
Then lead me to the box, and I'll tear into it.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was doing this work through Craigslist in Los Angeles for several years, and now serve multiple clients per week in Guilford County and surrounding.
