Introduction: I am an illustrator and a portrait painter who is living in Winston-Salem, NC. When I accept a portrait commission I start with a series of photos and sketches. From there I create a mock-up for the clients approval before moving on to the painting. I employ old master techniques to capture a likeness with presence. I work in oil paint, pastel and charcoal. When executing illustrations I work in a realistic, colorful style. I work closely with client's to ensure a proper translation from imagery to image. I have strong photoshop skills therefore all illustrations are submitted in a digital format. My portraits hang in numerous private collections and institutions. Illustration clients include Second Wind Publishing, Nature's Select Premium Turf Services and Augsburg Lutheran.
