FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Generally speaking, $50/1-on-1 session if I travel to the student's home (if they live east of Castro, west of Oakland), $45/1-on-1 session if the student travels to me (or lives in downtown San Francisco). Meditation-focused sessions are usually $5 less than their physical-focused counterparts, and I offer discounts if students purchase multiple classes at one time and/or if there are multiple students in a single session. Invite your friends, family, workmates!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We begin with a heavy focus on breathing right at the beginning of practise and end with an extended guided meditation (the form of which varies widely, depending on what I feel the student/class is in need of that day). I believe the internal mental side of yoga is inseparable from the physical side. Student Mantra: be kind to the body and check in regularly by doing a body scan to see if you've added anything that's not useful--tightened muscles that don't need to be engaged, too much weight on joints, et cetera--("How easy can I make this for my body?")...whatever state the body is in is exactly the state it should be ("Now, how can I still challenge myself, even if the challenge is just letting my glutes go loose and letting them *stay* loose?")... And BREATHE. Breathing is *so* important. :)
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In addition to having gone through Teacher Training through Omaha Yoga School (YA200 hours) I belong to several online and local yoga networks so that I can continually research, discuss, and improve my teachings.
