Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I'm new to Thumbtack but definitely not new to video and film production. I hold an MFA in documentary film from Stanford University and I put a lot of effort and time in getting to know the people that I am working with so that I can tell their story more fully. I strive to create videos that are creative and experiential. I love that when I work on videos I get to be part of people's lives while I work with them. When I make a video about a non-profit or a company, I get to be part of their team and their mission for a couple of weeks.

We hired Nico to develop a film for our programs 25th Anniversary. This involved listening to our goals and our story and bringing it to a video. Nico was great! He was very attentive, professional and skilled. Just look at his work! Nico listened to us deeply, not just what we said in words but what we believe our program to be about. He worked with us every step of the way to make sure that the video was what we were looking for. It was and much, much more! Nico's videography was phenomenal. He had such a beautiful eye and he took our goals and history translated into an amazing video and story. Nico gave our organization an incredible gift that will be cherished for a very long time.

I can't say enough great things about Nico and his work. I had the opportunity to work with him on three videos - one for a school's 20th anniversary, one for a statue dedication, and one for an 8th grade graduating class. For every project, he was exceptional. He really listened to our ideas and offered guidance on how to bring them to life. Nico was extremely professional and very easy to work with. I really trusted him with the story we wanted to tell in each of the videos. He did not disappoint with the end result. Nico has a wonderful ability to take a vision and create something even better than you had imagined. I would absolutely work with him again. Thank you, Nico!

Nico traveled onsite to the Dominican Republic to film our student and volunteer programming. He took the time to really understand the programs, the culture of both the student and locals before creating a product. His work was a work of art. That said, any requests we had for him to address additional points or focus on a particular aspect of what we do, Nico was very responsive and put in the extra time and work to help us meet our vision for great videos that captured the heart of the work our students and programs do.

I hired Nico Sandi to make a series of videos about my athletic career. He is professional, respectful, friendly and easy to work with. I felt very comfortable with him and always felt like he heard my suggestions and requests. His work consistently exceeded my expectations-- not only did he always deliver the videos on time, they were beautiful! Highly recommend Nico to anyone looking for a videographer.

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I studied journalistic video production in undergrad and went on to get an MFA in Documentary Film at Stanford University.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

The most common jobs I do for clients is telling the story of a program or an organization. And I have done that mostly for non-profits that want to get a video that tells what they do in a concise way.

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

I wish that customers knew how work intensive making videos can be. It takes a lot of energy to go to the site, bring equipment, spend time getting to know people, remember all the technicalities of the equipment and focus while shooting. But then, the behind the scenes also takes a lot of time. Sifting through hours of footage, writing the story, putting shots together, color correction, audio corrections and all that happens in the editing room. Its a lot!
