Stephen helped with cleaning out my basement after a flood. He helped with 'lots of moving of heavy items, cleaning, repairing, painting. Stephen is a very hard worker and reliable. He is proficient at all repairs around the house. I would definitely hire him again for any home project--big or small.
Let me start by saying that I wish I could give Wayne 10 stars, but since I only have the option of 5, that will have to do. Our house is over 100 years old and we are preparing to paint the exterior again. Needless to say, we had quite a "honey do" list of odd repairs that needed attention. Clapboards that were broken or rotting, the railings on the front porch were falling apart, back stairs pulling away from the house, decorative trim that was rotting, brick foundation in need of repointing, new exhaust vents, and finally new doors. Wayne responded to my initial request in record time and stopped by later that day to give me an estimate. Of all the contractors interviewed, he was the only one that completely outlined the work needed with a full materials list and cost breakdown. Others were quite vague and wanted to repair or replace more than was necessary, turning the job into something larger than it really was. That is why I decided to hire Wayne, his straightforward honesty and winning personality sealed the deal. Wayne and his crew started the job immediately and completed it in good time. They cleaned up the yard after and disposed of all the waste materials as well. Earlier I mentioned the decorative trim, he had this ingenious product that was able to halt the rot and preserve as much of the original wood as possible because there would be no way to replicate the trim without spending a ton. This technique was also used on my kitchen bay window, which ended up saving me a fair amount of money in that area. Wayne also went out of his way to find a great deal for my porch door, I described what I wanted and he took care of the rest. Wayne also offered to come back and replace any clapboard that was questionable once the painter gets started. The other area where he excelled was the masonry. I actually contemplated doing the job myself, I'm so happy that I came to my senses and left that up to Wayne. He truly went above and beyond expectations. The brick foundation including the cement pad really needed help. Wayne fixed the grout as well as re-cemented the gap between the foundation and the pad, now when it rains really hard or when snow melts, the basement won't flood. Wayne had really good instincts and advice about tackling the different elements of our project. He approached the job as if he was the homeowner with a budget wanting to spend money wisely. I'm telling you, I can't say enough good things about Wayne and his crew at L & K Construction. I will definitely be using them again in the future.
James was quick to respond to my initial request and was very thorough about the job. He first visited the condo where I needed the work done to make an initial assessment and then he came back a few days later to complete the work. He's very well rounded -- he fixed an electrical outlet, stretched some carpet, repaired a disposal, and helped diagnose a problem with a lock on a sliding glass door.
Working with Carl has been fantastic! Carl's responsiveness, follow through, quality and quantity of work has been outstanding. Interior and exterior work ranging from cosmetic repair, plumbing repair, exterior design and construction. I am very happy to have found Carl!
I am so glad Steve was the only one who replied to my toilet repair. We talked on the phone & he got a better idea of what was going on. He came prepared with everything he thought he would need for the repairs. He was so quick & thorough and even unclogged a bathroom sink drain for free. Come to find out, Steve is a very experienced Handyman and I have big & small projects that need to be done in the future. I would recommend him to anyone. Very personable. Thanks again Steve.
Ryan did a construction debris clean-up for me. He met me within 24hrs of contacting him and under-bid other contractors by a significant margin. He was back a couple days later and was quick and thorough about getting the job done. Thanks Ryan!
Gus helped out when my basement flooded after a furnace malfunction. He arrived promptly to view the necessary work, gave a reasonable estimate and came the next day to do the job. This included removing items to the garage, disposing of damaged items, mopping up the remaining water and removing, drying and replacing carpet. The process took approximately 4-5 hours. I would definitely hire him for future projects and highly recommend him.
Dawsons Maintenance was hired to clean up a yard and two driveways that was overgrown and had three years of neglect. They showed up on time and did a wonderful job, doing everything required and leaving the property looking 100 percent better.
Chris, I can not thank you enough you saved me with all the misc fixes and surprises my 2 empty condo's presented us. Chris had to change the locks, fix some small floor tiles, sheet rock work, emptied trash from one unit which was insane, installed a light, reconnected smoke alarms, installed sliding glass door screens and fixed so then would roll smoothly, fixed closet doors and probably more I can't remember. I sure am glad he was available and reasonable. He was so great I hired him to watch over the properties and show the empty condo until rented. As an out of State landlord it is hard to find someone you can count on. Chris I am glad I met you.
Josh replaced a garbage disposal and a faucet in a rental unit of mine. Initially I thought it would just be as simple as that, but Josh immediately noticed I had some odd fitting sizes on my pipes. He rolled with the punches, got the appropriate connections, and hooked up the new equipment. He did a great job and I was grateful he could accommodate my situation.
Gerry recently did a roof job on my house and additional work on water damage to the ceiling in the bathroom. He had to work around another contractor doing a mold remediation job in my attic. He was extremely professional and has a work ethic that is of the elite standard. He had to work around issues with the mold and was accommodating with last minute schedule changes. I would recommend him in a heart beat.
I couldn't be more pleased with the quality of work done by josh! He was on time every day and extremely neat. I never felt put out while he was here. My flat ceiling had water damage and not only does it look beautiful now but josh uncovered other issues in the ceiling and quickly corrected them. He goes above and beyond. I'm afraid to recommend him too much because he will become too popular!

Tom Sorensen started under my contractor, hired to transform/renovate my new condo. Tom began on the job as a painter primarily and bit by bit I observed even greater and more varied talents. While painting I was observed that Tom was great at his job, pleasant to have around, and he always left after all was cleaned up each day. My idea for the master bedroom was to paint stripes alternate colors to look like wall paper but in my exact size and color choices. The job turned out superbly so we did this same process except, using different measurements in the hall guest bath. All looks great. After the renovation was completed, I have employed Tom has a handy man. He saved a fine but old and weak cocktail table by taking it apart, regluing and then cleaning it up like new. Then when a 4 foot wall was taken down and we all found an ugly pole in the middle of a now open room, Tom suggested a french technique, trompe'loile (forgive spelling, please) which makes my newly painted column look like it is fluted (it is not ) and in the two colors of the room, done with antique faux cracks, etc, Trust me, it is fabulous. And now Tom is saving an antique Register Clock that fell from the wall. I expect that when I get it back it will perform as new, still look antique....but put back together with loving care. And electrical problems sees easy to accomplish too. Tom is a really good guy and I wish him luck in his new business with himself as CEO. You can trust him, and as long as his vehicle is running, he will always be on the job.
