Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I teach reading, improvisation, and theory on the guitar, fiddle/violin, banjo, mandolin, pedal steel, bass, and Dobro. Musical styles range from classical to bluegrass and jazz. I've been teaching for over 20 years, and I teach from beginner to advanced students. The lessons should be fun, although that is not guaranteed. Above all, you will learn the most efficient ways to practice, so that you get results from your effort. I've had thousands of students whom I draw from to give the best advice to any student.

It sounds like Steve will be a great fit for guitar lessons for my grandson. The lessons will be a Christmas gift so we haven't started yet.

As an adult student, I have been taking mandolin and guitar lessons from Steve for about two years. I would recommend him unquestionably to any prospective student looking to take music lessons. Steve is a down-to-earth instructor who is not only eager to help his students learn but demonstrably excellent at playing and teaching the instruments he teaches. Steve has introduced me to a variety of music from a theory viewpoint, but is eager to help his students define their own path, reflective of their particular musical tastes. I’ve played an array of bluegrass, jazz, blues, and classical music with Steve. Not only has my playing dramatically improved, but my appreciation for the music has improved exponentially. I’ve learned how to diatoni cally examine songs, understand rhythm signatures, identify different scales, solo, and perhaps most importantly, how to practice properly. Whether you’re just looking to play your favorite song, or become a lifelong student of your instrument, Steve is definitely the guy to help you along the path of musical discovery.

My first guitar instructor was my dad back when I was about ten years old. Fast forward about thirty years to 2003 when I started taking guitar lessons from Steve. You learn more than just playing a guitar with Steve. He teaches you how to read music and about music theory. You will appreciate other genres of music and maybe even a different instrument or two. I now have a mandolin and ukelele (along with a few guitars) that Steve is also teaching me how to play. I started lessons with Steve on a whime and am glad that I did. It has been a wonderful experience learning more about music and how to play an instrument. And I owe Steve a great deal of thanks and credit for making this experience fun.
