If you’re looking for a decorator who can take a vision from paper and turn it into reality, Sonia and Lil Love Party Planning are exactly who you need. For my baby shower, I provided Sonia with a detailed decor vision document that was over 20 pages long. It included everything from color palettes and inspiration photos to custom details and design concepts. Not only did Sonia take the time to understand my vision, but she brought it to life in a way that exceeded my expectations. Every detail felt intentional, cohesive, and true to what I had imagined. What I appreciated most was that Sonia wasn’t afraid to contribute her expertise. Throughout the planning process, she offered thoughtful suggestions and creative ideas that enhanced the overall design without ever changing the vision I had worked so hard to create. She understood the assignment perfectly. Beyond her decorating talent, Sonia was an incredible source of support during the planning process. Event planning can be stressful, and there were moments when my stress level was through the roof. Sonia was empathetic, patient, reassuring, and often a shoulder to lean on when I needed one. That level of emotional support is something you can’t put a price on. She also has an amazing team. The setup was handled professionally, efficiently, and with great attention to detail. Her crew worked incredibly hard, and they were just as invested in the success of the event as she was. Equally important, Sonia and her team stayed involved during breakdown and cleanup, which was a tremendous help at the end of a long day. Another thing that sets Sonia apart is that she becomes a true event resource for her clients. Throughout the planning process, she shared recommendations for servers, makeup artists, bakeries, entertainment, and other vendors. She is extremely well connected and genuinely wants her clients to succeed. Although I hired her specifically for decorating, prospective clients should know that Sonia also offers Day-of Coordination services. Given how organized and hands-on she was throughout my event, I can absolutely see the value of having her manage both décor and coordination. For future clients, I would offer one piece of advice: create a detailed vision document before reaching out. Decor is one of the most important elements of any event, and costs can add up quickly. The more specific you are about your vision, the better Sonia can help establish a realistic starting budget and guide you through the process. She is excellent at working within parameters, but ultimately it is the client’s responsibility to manage and approve expenses. For those who like a high level of transparency and control over costs, I also recommend asking Sonia to provide direct links to the items she plans to purchase, along with quantities needed. You can then purchase the items yourself and have them shipped directly to her preferred address. This approach worked very well for me because everyone knew exactly what was ordered, how much it cost, and what materials belonged to the client at the end of the event. To help manage costs, I also sourced some specialty items myself through Etsy, including custom food labels, place cards, personalized souvenir items for guest gift bags, an acrylic sign for my sangria bar, and a custom sign for my Audio Guest Book station. By handling certain custom and handmade items directly, I was able to maintain control over pricing while still achieving a highly personalized and elevated look. At the end of the day, the success of my baby shower was the result of a partnership. I came with a very detailed vision, and Sonia brought the talent, creativity, experience, and execution needed to make it a reality. The result was everything I hoped for and more. Sonia was a pleasure to hire, her communication during her arrival and setup superseded all expectations. Her team put together a glamorous Sweet 16 that made my heart melt.
