Lauren Collura catered a party for 60 people in my apartment in New York City. The event was composed of a service of hors d'oeuvres, beverage service, and a buffet dinner. Lauren is an accomplished professional who understands the multiple components that must be part of a successful catering business. Lauren worked with me to develop the plans for the party, was quickly and effectively responsive to my suggestions and concerns, and executed the plan regarding the food and service in an excellent fashion. She visited my home well before the event to assess the space and determine the set-up in my home; she arranged for the rental of all food service items, tables and chairs; and she constructed an arrangement that worked seamlessly in my home. It was a pleasure for me to work with her and, most important, the guests had a wonderful time, all around, as evidenced by the very many compliments regarding Lauren's work that I received.

i was planning a surprise 35th birthday for my wife. I received several responses to my inquiry, but Bacco Catering easily stood out among them. Their menu and proposal were extremely detailed and clear. Most importantly, Lauren took the time to walk me through the options and we selected a menu that was perfect for my needs and budget.
Even though she received no additional payment, Lauren coordinated the rental equipment I needed, and secured the perfect amount of staff for my party. Additionally, even though I purchased all the alcohol and drinks, Lauren guided me on exactly what I should get. Simply said, she made it as easy as it could be to plan and host a party.
The actual event was a HUGE success. Lauren and her staff were at my house right on time, and immediately got to work. They were friendly, hard-working, which put me at ease even though I had 40+ people attending. Most importantly, the food was absolutely delicious. Almost every friend who attended the event asked for the name of the caterer, which is the best compliment I can give.
From the time Bacco / Lauren contacted me through Thumbtack, to the planning and actual party, I can't say enough about how easy they made it for me. Anything I needed, she was there to assist me. I felt as if I was not planning a party on my own, but had a partner to help.
If you are looking for a caterer for an event, I would absolutely recommend Bacco catering. You will not be disappointed!

From the very first contact with Lauren from Bacco CateredEvents, it was totally professional and first class all the way. It was a big relief for me when Lauren took care of all the catering, equipment rental and staffing and it all worked like clockwork. All the guests thought the food was really delicious and commented how wonderful the staff was - friendly, courteous and very professional. They turned the house and garden into a special space, perfect for the birthday party, and by the end of the evening the house spotless and back to normal. Lauren and her team at Bacco catered a seated dinner for 14 people in my Manhattan apartment. By the end of the night, multiple guests asked for her information so they could work with her in the future. Their satisfaction, of course, was with her food (outrageous! inventive! gorgeously plated!) and her service (courteous! professional! attentive!). What they didn't get to see, and what I feel lucky to have experienced, is what a joy it was to work with Lauren in the planning and organization of the event. We worked together to fine tune a menu that was seasonal, colorful, delicious, and took into account certain food restrictions (no nuts; kosher). Her wine suggestions, her rental company--everything was perfect. The execution of the event was seamless. For what it's worth, my husband hasn't eaten salmon in years, and he ate every bite of Lauren's broccolini stuffed Moroccan spiced salmon. Before she left my home, I told her that I am looking for any excuse to host another party just so she can cater it! I am thrilled with my experience with Lauren and recommend her in the highest esteem.

Lauren and her team were terrific on every front. In planning, she was responsive, flexible, and worked with our evolving needs. On the day of the event, the team was punctual and very professional. The food was terrific - interesting, healthy, tasty and well-presented. The service was excellent. Lauren not only did all the preparation in the kitchen on her own, she also managed the serving staff extremely well throughout the event. Our guests were all pleased and impressed. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We are happy to work within budgets, but clients should always be up front about what they’d like to spend since everything is customized—food, staffing, beverage and rentals should all be considered within your target budget.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After the potential client responds to a series of questions and expresses interest in our services, we move forward with a proposal and relative menu options. Once they examine the customized information, we follow up with a conversation to clear up any questions that may remain. At that point, once the client decides if we are the right fit, we move forward with all the rest 😊
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Grand Diplome from The French Culinary Institute, now known as International Culinary Center in Manhattan. Prior to a formal degree, established a catering company in Rome, Italy with primarily clientele from the American Embassy.
Worked in numerous high end reputable restaurants in Manhattan and received rave reviews, as well as a wealth of experience in catering and food styling.
