Patrick Micheal Wickham is the master, period. I have taken vocals from so many coaches who just tell you what to do, but this is the first time in my life I know how to do it! I have learned so much more in four lessons than in four years with those fools. To my RBGirls out there-stop lettin people tell you that only an R&B coach can teach you that way! That's what I thought until I sat down with a real technician. It's about the voice and the BODY, not about the sound. Two lessons and you'll see.
Bass lessons with Dom are amazing! He takes great care to patiently teach me music theory. His lessons are well-paced and informative. He is encouraging, skilled, and thorough. Learning from a guitar player as skilled as Dom is truly a dream. I can't wait for the day we will truly start jamming together!
I have been working with David as a bass teacher for a couple of months now to re-develop my skills and he has been a fantastic instructor. David has a great ability to read where you are in your development and come up with fun and relevant lessons to advance your development. He clearly has a deep knowledge of music theory but makes his lessons in theory much more interesting than any I've ever had and has me look forward to learning every week. David has made learning bass fun and I'd highly recommend him.
Michelle is the piano teacher I wished for when I was a kid! Michelle is patient, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. One of the things my 7-year-old loves most about Michelle is that she lets her explore her musical creative side. Michelle has guided my daughter in composing her own music, tackling tough songs of her own choosing and in introducing instruments like the harmonica into her selections. Michelle is always upbeat and full of positive energy and as a result my daughter loves her music lessons.
Jimi is an amazing teacher. His versatility and depth of knowledge, not only of guitar, but of music theory make his style of instruction completely tailored to the interests of student. Jimi is a musician in his heart and his passion for music is tempered only by his intense humanity. There are no drills, there's no yelling. There's only an immersion in music and true scaffolding of skills. Additionally, you'll find yourself laughing and learning all the same in a way that breeds a true life long love of playing. My lessons with Jimi added a dimension to my life in knowing and understanding music that is truly like a 6th sense. He enablers me to shear the world in ways I never would have otherwise. Anyone would be well served to take lessons with him--or just to talk about music with him.
Francis is very professional. His piano lessons are very tailored and engaging. I would highly recommend.
working with sean was a great experience. as a beginner adult student, he was always very patient with me and understanding of my busy schedule. i found his lessons to be challenging and informative while at the same time being really fun. he never made learning piano feel like a chore. i learned a lot, not just how to play the piano, but also about music theory--the guy reall knows his stuff! i'd highly recommend sean to anyone at any level and was sad to find out he was leaving the bay area.
I've been getting piano lessons for a few months now, and we just started working on voice as well. Dave is knowledgeable, patient, and really wonderful to work with.
Michael is an excellent teacher that's easy to relate to and fun to learn from. He tweaks his lessons based on your interests and goals which makes the experience a lot more engaging. For someone who was learning western music for the very first time, he made it very approachable and taught me some basic music theory too. Overall, I'd highly recommend Michael...he's a fantastic and versatile player himself, with a clear knack for teaching.
My 10-year-old son started taking bass lessons from Wayne three months ago. I couldn't be happier with the progress he has made. Wayne has stressed how to properly squeeze each note, hold his fret hand and sit with correct posture. In addition, my son is now reading basic sheet music. He also knows the names of most of the notes on his fretboard. Wayne always provides music lessons that he writes out personally and also provides associated MP3 audio files. My son is able to practice the lesson along with an audio track that serves as reinforcement. Wayne even transcribed a song that could be played with the actual music track. Wayne has an encouraging and positive attitude. There is a genuine excitement and passion in his teaching. I highly recommend.
My 5 year old started with Ms. Delon 2 months ago. Her piano teaching style is exceptional. She means real piano lessons and every single minute of her class is maximize! In a Very short span of time, my daughter is reading and writing notes and playing several piano pieces. My daughter’s love for music keeps growing more and more since the day we met Ms. Delon. She looks forward for her piano class every Saturday!
Kino is really patient with me, and her space is really clean, bright and large, highly recommend her for piano lessons.
My kids always enjoyed their piano lessons with you and actually practiced without me having to threaten them! Thanks to you, they both still play. Adam plays for the sheer enjoyment of it. He has a keyboard in his room in Virginia (he's still in the Navy) and puts on his headphones and plays! Thanks, Jonathan! Besides being a fantastic musician, you know how to inspire and teach. Michael has been teaching me guitar for a couple of weeks now, and I enjoy his teaching method. Unlike other instructors who tried teaching me theory from the beginning, Michael focused on chords and how to get me playing asap. He's very patient and gives thorough explanations. I would highly recommend Michael to anyone looking to learn guitar from scratch.
I have taken piano lessons from Robert for a few weeks now and my ability to read sheet music while I play, as well as understand music theory (big areas of weakness for me) have already improved significantly. He is a great instructor who understands what you need in order to become a better player, and he creates a fun and relaxed atmosphere that makes me look forward to my lesson each week. I would highly recommend Robert as a piano instructor!
Adam is an incredibly patient and motivational teacher who easily adapts to whatever style of learning and music work best for you. I'm very interested in music theory, and have found Adam not only knowledgeable about any of the questions I have, but also able to relay the concepts in memorable, easy-to-learn ways. His lessons are well-paced, and I always leave excited to go home and start practicing. Would highly recommend Adam as an instructor!
To whom it may concern: Jacob Sayraf has been teaching my 10 year-old son Steven the guitar and vocals for over a year and a half now. He has been a wonderful teacher, and my son has made great progress under his tutelage. Before he met Jacob he didn't know how to play the guitar at all. Jacob is also sharing with Stevie a wealth of songs from a broad range of folk, country, rock, pop, and standards. Some of these include: "We'll Meet Again", "Bad Bad Leroy Brown", "Blue Moon of Kentucky", "House of the Rising Sun", "Blue Suede Shoes", "In My Life", "Hot Tamales and Theyr'e Red Hot", and "Don't Worry, Be Happy". Stevie is getting a sound musical education through Jacob. Jacob is doing a great job of not only teaching Stevie the guitar, but also the theory of music behind it. He gives Stevie homework, which Stevie dutifully does. Jacob also goes out of his way to borrow sheet music books from the library so he can lend them to Stevie. Most importantly, Stevie has a lot of fun with Jacob and always looks forward to his next lesson, which to me is a sign of a great teacher. I would definitely recommend Jacob for any teaching position you have. Sincerely, Jeffery Ringle
Rebecca is the best vocal teacher out there! She is warm, patient, supportive and really makes you feel comfortable. I would look forward to lessons with Rebecca every week and really learned so much from her. She taught me so much about finding my own voice and really made me confident about my own abilities. Not only did she teach me music, but Rebecca's classes also taught me a great deal about myself and what I wanted to do with my life. I'd recommend her in a heartbeat !!!
I’ve known Kyle for over 4 years now and each time I work with him is an absolute pleasure. He has a vast wealth of knowledge about music theory as well as the patience to teach anybody how to play guitar. He is the definition of professional and on top of that he is good-natured and personable! Highly recommended!
Parham has a solid technique set up but at the same time, he is very flexible to make it work for every type of person. He is patient which is very helpful on those days when you have not practiced enough. He always has this smile on his face which is very encouraging. I enjoy my piano lessons with Parham, cause not only I learn so much, but also I leave the class in a great mood every single time.
Lou is an incredibly accomplished guitarist who studied with, among others, Eddie Simon (Paul Simon's brother). I needed some structured guitar lessons that would allow me to understand chord structure better. Lou took me through understanding and practicing simple scales through more advanced chords. He always came prepared with charts and tablature for me to keep and his fee was incredibly reasonable. Plus he's really funny. :-)
