I have the trainers with other dogs come in three times a week for two months and didn’t come close to getting the results that I got with Jay after five visits. He was prompt courteous and very patient with not only the dog but with me as well. I have a two-year-old daughter who Jay was absolutely fantastic with and integrated her into the training with the dog. If you care about you dog and want the best training possible cal Jay
Mary Jean has totally transformed our dog. We started training during his puppy stage and continued into part of his adolescence, so Mary Jean was able to curb some behaviors very early on. Her positive attitude, accessibility, and willingness to help have made her a joy to work with. Plus, our dog absolutely adores her. Mary Jean trains both the dog and the owner. Her advice about how to reinforce skills on our own was clear and easy to keep up with. Our time with Mary Jean is over for now, but she instilled key skills that will stay with us and with our dog for a very long time. We highly recommend The Canine Cure!
Ariana was absolutely amazing!!! She trained our dog to become a service dog and had incredible success. She spent whatever time was needed, never once looking at her watch or paying attention to when the hour was up. She genuinely cares about her work and the animals she works with. We will continue to work with Ariana even now, after the main training is complete. No recommendation will do Ariana justice, she genuinely is incredible!
My dog and I have had 2 sessions so far with Suzanne and I’d say we’re seeing a massive improvement. Suzanne is helping my puppy and I with the basics and beyond and we are slowly integrating all the elements together. What I like is that it’s not a “class” but more she met me in my home to assess and now we are working outside. We’re doing the training outside and socializing my puppy with real life “distractions” and other dogs. So far I’m very pleased. The tips she gives are things that I can incorporate once she leaves and I feel good about it. Most importantly my little puppy is learning and seems more relaxed!!!
Joan's approach to behavioral training is very integrated taking into account the dog's environment, diet, and activity level. It's so nice to have a trainer that can make additional recommendations beyond the standard behavioral instructions to include changes in dietary and health needs to improve the training process. We asked Joan for help with our Dachshund/Poodle cross after repeated accidents in the apartment. Within two sessions we were communicating with our puppy to understand when she needs to go out, when she just wants to play, etc. Joan has been a huge help, she's punctual and extraordinarily good with the dogs and brings a tremendous value to the process beyond just learning how to "sit." As with any dog trainer it's important to know that as the owner you're being trained as well requiring a good dose of humility. Joan handles this without condescension and always remains positive. I recommend her for training and general dog care consulting!
Dr. J has a very different approach to dog training. It works because the dog understands completely what is expected. We accomplished in two sessions what I could not with any of my dogs over the years. The crazy barking is a thing of the past and only appropriate bark is heard. I can walk my 7 month old Maltese and 11 year old Yorkie without a leash. Anyone who has a pet should consider having Dr. J visit. You will not only have well behaved pets, but in my opinion, a better relationship.
Jenn, the owner , I so impressive. I needed advice on care and training of my puppy. Her suggestions were practical, realistic and they are working. Jenn is professional, bright and fun to work with.
Sean Ryan is quite simply, the best of the best. He is honest, straight forward, supportive, and encouraging. The investment in training with City Wolves is priceless. When I sent my rescue dog Levon to training he was nervous and fearful to a debilitating level. He was great with people, great with dogs, but absolutely horrible with modern technology. The sound of a car door shutting would send him scrambling for the hills and he was afraid to walk on any kind of indoor flooring. The entire process was exceptional, Sean kept me posted on all of his progress and provided status updates constantly. After four weeks in the Board & Train program, Levon was a completely different dog. Sean gave him a base level of confidence which I could simply never have provided him with. His approach with dogs is very intelligent, calm and respectful. He provided me with the tools to work together and communicate with Levon. I'm confident that his board and train program is the absolute best offered in our area. Structured, safe, and just an amazing environment for a dog to be in when they aren't at home. Sean continues to provide support, answer questions and genuinely shows that he cares long after the training session is complete.
Alice is Staten Island's dog whisperer! She is professional, knowledgeable and has an equaled passion for helping people with their dog training needs. Give her a try and you will not be disappointed!
Honestly don't know what I would have done without his training; he's help shape my dog into a model citizen!
Kristen is amazing. We were looking for a trainer who could help us with both training and therapy with a 3 year old samoyed who had suffered a carpal (wrist) injury. Kristen's experience as a breeder and trainer of working dogs combined with her experience as a vet tech made her the perfect choice and we're lucky we found her. Kristen primarily works with Australian Shepherds, breeding training and showing, but she is great with all breeds. Do you know she has shown dogs at Westminster? Our Samoyed Lulu had an accident a year ago and her carpal joint had become inflamed. Lulu's stomach doesn't tolerate NSAIDS, and Lulu was in pain and picking up some bad habits. Kristen took over and got everything on the right track right away. First, Kristen helped us find a course of treatment that helped relieve Lulu's worst symptoms without harming her stomach, stabilizing her for the next step. Then Kristen designed a course of training to simultaneously strengthen Lulu's muscles and joints. (Not just her wrist) to better support her weight, while also training Lulu for obedience. Kristen even managed conversations with a local vet to get the right combination of meds for Lulu including gabapenton. Kristen went far beyond what we expected. I can't think of a better resource for training, working with physical challenges , coordinating treatment and doing it all seamlessly. For any job, from basic puppy training to working dog training to complex cases like ours, you won't find anyone even close to Kristen. Thanks Kristen!
Josh is an amazing trainer and very dedicated. He was able to try many different methods of training when one didn't work for our dog.
We are so happy to have met Debbie! She is an absolute pleasure. She helped me and my fiancee learn how to be the best owners to our new puppy Bodie. She truly cares for each animal she works with and wants the best for both owner and dog. Being a pretty anxious person, Debbie was so patient and helpful. She never left without us fully understanding what is expected and always made sure we could do it on our own. She is a fabulous trainer and person. She even gave us great tips for healthy homemade treats for our dog. I would recommend her 1000 times over to anyone who is looking for help with their dog, new or old.
Chelsea Kronick was the trainer--and will be on call--for my Service Dog even before he was a Service Dog. Forget about the fancy special skills for the dog: She took a nutball, somewhat aggressive Golden one-year old and his clueless owner and turned them as a pair into upstanding citizens ready for High Tea with the Queen. Do not let yourself miss working with Chelsea. 1. What's already a great gift: Her skill and understanding of how dogs think and act, and how to most effectively change them, guide the dog's nature, towards matching your needs, with the dog happier and more integrated than before. Add to that: What is unique in my 30 year experience of numerous trainers, who even for starters never came near Chelsea's skill with dogs: 2. No dog comes without a caregiver or two, and Chelsea learns _the relationship_ of the people to their pets in training mode and off; hell, she's discovered the relationship of the caregiver to himself as well: what goes through your mind when you are frustrated, or who (you/dog) has done what in the ongoing process of training as expectations and actions change and the method must adapt. It's entire process and its subtasks which Chelsea's learns, teaches, fixes. Rinse and repeat. Go with Sundog.
Training in walking the dog and preventing from just moping on guests. He did a terrific job! Very patient and explained everything
We had the best experience working with Laura. Her expertise is second-to-none! Not only did she help us with obedience and behavioral training, her insights regarding health and congenital issues related to our breed (English Bulldog) was very valuable. Our Mabel has achieved more than I could have hoped. She is well on her way to being fully house trained and she has successfully started learning new commands which I never thought possible. I have learned a lot as a dog owner and would recommend Laura to everyone. Now that Mabel has graduated, we will miss seeing Laura during our weekly sessions.
Pupwalk is an amazing service! Randy has trained my rescue dog, who has tons of energy and has anxiety issues, to calm down, chill, and overall he is a much happier dog. If you need training and or dog walking, or both, I would highly recommend him. He not only walks your dog, and trains him, but he will show you how to properly walk your dog and be involved in solo or family training so everyone can see how it works!
Adam is a really nice guy who clearly loves dogs and enjoys working with them. He's a down to earth guy. The man knows what hes doing, he mde a friend in our German Pinscher "Noble" in short order. Addm is extremely knowledgeable and patient in his the training field. Looking forward to continue working / training Nible with him. I would very highly recommend him nd his services for any dog training needs.
I met Charli when I was training my pug, Rosie, to become a therapy dog. Rosie is a bit older so I was unsure if this would be possible. Charli is patient and kind with all of the dog owners and just as patient and kind with the dogs with a wonderful confidence that she uses in her training techniques. If you use Charli for dog training you can be sure you are in good hands. She doesn't stop until both dog and owner are completely trained. Her knowledge and experience can't be matched. I definitely recommend The Dog Chick!!!
Anastasia has been a lifesaver for my family and me. She provides walks, cuddles, food and water mid-day. Our dog had a medical issue that needed attention and she provided EXCELLENT advice and care. She is responsive to all texts and emails. She goes above and beyond. I highly recommend Anastasia if you care about the health and well-being of your pets.
I know 4 dogs in the neighborhood including the one that lives next door to me that Shana has trained & they are all perfect examples of what a well trained dog should be. They are all different breeds & ages. Each one is delightful & well mannered!! To this day, whenever a previously trained dog that Shana has had as a client sees her in the street they still remember her & want to run to her!!
