Introduction: Hi my name is Melissa and I am a Professional Organizer and the founder of MY Preferred Organizing LLC. I offer FUN in FUNctionality. At a young age I always enjoyed organizing and rearranging furniture anywhere I went. Becoming a Professional Organizer has always been a dream of mine and I am so blessed that my hobby is now my business. My goal is to Reduce, Arrange, and Maintain any space in your home all while having fun doing it. It doesn't have to be a stressful process! I am so glad that we asked Melissa to come and organize our home! We are a college professor and a nurse with a preschooler and a toddler, and we've never been able to keep our first floor neat and tidy. Melissa completely reorganized our living room, kitchen, dining room, foyer, and my office, finding space I didn't know we had and making homes for all of our important things. Melissa was absolutely AMAZING for the job I requested of her. I have a large walk in closet that became a total disaster and was too overwhelming to do myself. I hired Melissa and she made my closet new again. She was easy to communicate with prior to coming, she was punctual, she was creative with ideas to make the best of my space. She cleaned as she organized. Was a pleasure to spend time with! She was in my most private space and I felt comfortable leaving her in there alone, when I was in and out. Extremely trustworthy. Thanks to Melissa’s help and hard work reorganizing my basement, I was finally able to get my basement under control! Now my pantry shelves are ready to use more efficiently. Im able to see what holiday decorations and housewares to get rid of, and easily access my photos! Its definitely a good feeling not to feel embarrassed if friends , family, or a repairman need to go down into my basement, knowing it’s not a mess! I charge by the hour, but work efficiently to get the job done!
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to be friendly and relate to my clients, make them feel comfortable-with no judgement. Typically, I will ask for pictures of the space we are going to be working on. I then discuss what their goal is for the space and how we can accomplish that.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a member of NAPO, and currently taking classes to gain more experience. I have been organizing for years.
