Introduction: Hi my name is Melissa and I am a Professional Organizer and the founder of MY Preferred Organizing LLC. I offer FUN in FUNctionality. At a young age I always enjoyed organizing and rearranging furniture anywhere I went. Becoming a Professional Organizer has always been a dream of mine and I am so blessed that my hobby is now my business. My goal is to Reduce, Arrange, and Maintain any space in your home all while having fun doing it. It doesn't have to be a stressful process! I can help you declutter and organize rooms such as Kitchens, Closets, Mud Rooms, and any other space in your home! It is all about creating a system that works for YOU! I am so glad that we asked Melissa to come and organize our home! We are a college professor and a nurse with a preschooler and a toddler, and we've never been able to keep our first floor neat and tidy. Melissa completely reorganized our living room, kitchen, dining room, foyer, and my office, finding space I didn't know we had and making homes for all of our important things. I had sort of given up hope on ever getting rid of our mess, but thanks to Melissa, our home feels like a home again. She's kind and thoughtful, and listens to our needs, and it's fun to work with her, too!

Melissa was absolutely AMAZING for the job I requested of her. I have a large walk in closet that became a total disaster and was too overwhelming to do myself. I hired Melissa and she made my closet new again. She was easy to communicate with prior to coming, she was punctual, she was creative with ideas to make the best of my space. She cleaned as she organized. Was a pleasure to spend time with! She was in my most private space and I felt comfortable leaving her in there alone, when I was in and out. Extremely trustworthy. In the end, my unorganized mess was exactly how I wanted it to be again! Clean, neat, much more organized than I could have imagined! I HIGHLY recommend her for any type of home or office organization project. She works fast, but is very detail oriented, and she loves what she does. She wants her clients to be happy with the final result and makes certain that you are. What a great experience! Melissa is simply fantastic! Not only organized my whole basement and storage but she also organized my head with suggestions, instructions and guidance!!! I was on the verge of tears when it was done. I cannot recommend her enough!!

My husband and I recently purchased a new home in Ridgewood so I needed some help getting my kitchen and pantry in order. When I first contacted Melissa she was very responsive and easy to communicate with . She told me exactly what I needed to be able to achieve what I wanted. After getting the supplies there were a few things I missed and she went out of her way to make sure she had everything from start to finish. Melissa showed up a little early to prepare which I loved and was able to sort organize and get through everything that same day. I feel like a new person everything is decluttered organized and sorted to perfection. She is creative and aims to please. We booked her to come back for our closets and garage and that says something because I am meticulous. It was an absolute pleasure working with Melissa I highly recommend her.

    I charge by the hour, but work efficiently to get the job done!

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

    I like to be friendly and relate to my clients, make them feel comfortable-with no judgement. Typically, I will ask for pictures of the space we are going to be working on. I then discuss what their goal is for the space and how we can accomplish that.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    I am a member of NAPO, and currently taking classes to gain more experience. I have been organizing for years.
