We found Chris, after being frustrated with chain dog walking services. Chris and his team have been a breathe of fresh air. Our dog Summer has lots of energy and they really went above and beyond to make sure she was able to run and play everyday. We also have used barkstown for boarding and we were so happy and at peace with that decision. They sent photos and updates and summer was always so happy when she had to drive away with Chris. Barkstown made my lifelong dream of visiting NYC come true. I was able to relax and take my time touring knowing that my dog had a reliable dog walker. Chris was able to accommodate changes in our schedule important on a trip this big. We needed walks 2xday since our dog is only used to a dog door. I asked if Chris would call after each walk since this was the first time our Coton had a dog walker. turns out we not only got those phone calls but text pictures too !! I can't say enough good things about Chris. I recently moved from Montclair to Jersey City and was worried about finding the right dog walker for my dog, Moo, as well as someone who would be accommodating to my erratic work schedule. I interviewed a few dog walkers but felt the most comfortable with Chris. You can tell that he genuinely cares for and has great love for animals. I work long hours but I know that Chris will take great care of Moo. Chris leaves daily reports so it is easy to see what time he stopped by and if Moo took care of her business that day. I have also boarded Moo with Chris. Chris was very accommodating with my last minute trip. I also appreciated how Chris went out of his way to help me, especially with the pick up and drop off during boarding. It gives me a peace of mind that she is not boarded in a kennel and gets to spend time with Chris and his pup. She is part of his crew. Chris is very responsive as well as organized. He send me weekly invoices, which is well laid out and easy to understand. If I need him to stop by more than once a day. A quick text and confirmation is all that is needed. I love the fact that he is very tech savvy so you can reach Chris through text, email, and by phone. Last but not least, I love the pictures Chris sends to me of my dog. - What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?We do. Our prices vary on the service you select and factors in how many dogs are in the same household, length of walk as well as time or day of the week, which are shown on our website.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?We always insist on a "Meet & Greet" with new clients and their pet(s). This not only gives the owners a better sense of who they're hiring, but also gives your pet a chance to get familiar with us. It also provides them with a sense of security with them seeing their owner(s) interacting with someone new in their home and understanding that it's okay when they see us once we begin providing our services. We will go over the do's and don'ts, expectations, goals and overall care for their pets.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?With over 7+ years of experience handling, walking and caring for animals, we not only depend on our life experiences as business owners, but also as pet owners ourselves. We also take the time in learning new methods of pet care whether by webinars, experts and of course learning through our clients as they sometimes come up with the most ingenious methods in taking care of their animals.
