FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our fees vary by location and size of the job. Generally, our home organizing rates are hourly with a minimum. Clients are able to choose if they want one master organizer or if they'll want Homebody to bring an additional helper organizer. (When inquiring with interest, please ask and we can tell you if your project will need more than one organizer.) Cleaning rates are flat rates and vary by size of residence and location. Pet sitting rates vary by type of pet (i.e. dog, cat, fish, bird) and location.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
The jobs I do most frequently include pet sitting, mainly checking in daily and sometimes staying over night with feline friends as well as bi-weekly cleanings. I also love getting my hands on bigger projects including organizing closets, home office areas, kitchens, and more. I tend to help people who have just moved in and don't know where to start or who are moving out and need help boxing up items, sorting out "to keep" and "to donate" items and the ever popular overhaul move-out clean. Also, several of my clients are ladies who need to change their closets seasonally and since I do that to my own closet (and who doesn't love clothes?), those are always fun projects to work on, as well. As of late, we have also started offering real estate staging and decorating with the help of the artistic eye of my mom who has recently moved to the area.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
First and foremost, a home and pet care provider is a person entering your home and handling your prized items and your furry family members. You need to first feel comfortable with the person by getting references and also "feeling them out" via email and via phone (which can give you a good feel right away). Ask for pictures of their past work. You also want to make sure you "click" on a level that the service provider understands what you expect from them. Meaning, if you would like to get your hands dirty and work with the service provider to learn, let them know in advance. If you need a more gentle approach or a "tough love" approach (like we see frequently on those HGTV type of shows) let your service provider know. This is more than just a service, it is entry into your home, your sanctuary and the person entering should make you and your home and the final outcome feel great.
