Introduction
My name is Christina Esser, and I have maintained an active voice and piano studio since 2014. I currently teach beginning to advanced voice and beginning piano in Jersey City as well as online lessons to students all over the world. I am positive, enthusiastic and encouraging in my teaching approach, and believe in creating a safe learning environment for my students. I structure my lesson plans around the individual’s needs and maintain flexibility in helping my students discover their own unique, musical voice and style.

Our daughter has been taking lessons with Christina since she was 11 years old. Christina taught her to find her true voice instead of copying others, and showed her how to use her natural voice in a healthy manner without forcing. Our daughter is now 15 and still loves Christina to pieces, even though finding time is more difficult now, she still tries to make time. Christina is positive, encouraging, and always finds the right way to build up confidence, while still building up skills. She passes on all she knows and has learned in a coherent, and clear way, and if what she is trying to convey is not clear, she doesn't repeat it in the same way, but explains in a completely different way, using imagery, visualizations or analogies. She is not only an extremely talented singer herself, but unlocks the talent in her students and guides them to being the best version of themselves. I cannot recommend her highly enough. We have tried other teachers, and none have come close to the knowledge but also kind and wise way of passing on that information.

Christina is an incredible voice teacher who specializes in working with students on support, breath, and releasing tensions in the face and vocal tract. In her teaching style, she is kind and patient. She works with the student to understand how they learn, thus allowing her to give individualized lessons depending on what the student needs. In my lessons with her, she greatly helped me with isolating my soft palate from the back of my tongue, releasing my tongue tension and working on vowel purity without tension, as well as efficient use of breath. I highly recommend Christina to students of all ages; she is an avid learner and teacher whose passion for music is contagious!
