I enlisted the help of Arbor Tutors to help me with test prep for grad school. Oh man! I am SUPER happy I did that. The tutoring manager walked me through the whole process and set me up with TWO tutors. They also said I could change tutors at any time, but I didn't need to. I was accepted into all of my top choices (Columbia, Penn, Cornell and Duke). I used the application services also (they reviewed my essays).
Daniel is amazing at GMAT prep. He's hands on, relatable, and flexible. I broke 700 thanks to Daniel, along with hard work of course! Trust me, work with this guy.
Before I, the student, began working with Jeremy, I was having little to no improvement in consecutive SAT exams. I was having so much trouble trying to figure out the proper way to study, in how I could improve myself and jump into the 1500s which was my goal. However, I was leveling out at about the high 1300s, with a loss on what to do. Kaplan Test Prep did not help much, as they provided often passive learning strategies, and failed to really help the student with effective, real-working strategies. Jeremy Fine knows the ins and the outs of not only the SAT but the ACT as well. His vast knowledge about the exams, combined with his professionalism in them and in colleges globally (college prep as well), made him the perfect tutor that ultimately improved my test score by more than 100 points in the span of 5 weeks! The strategies that he gave me, and the vigor that he gave every motivating speech with, really helped me learn how to tackle every single question. I would recommend Jeremy to anybody who really wants to improve with a passion. Obviously, Jeremy is not a miracle maker, who can automatically increase a score by hundreds without the student doing any work. I worked very hard, and Jeremy takes that very seriously. But coming from a kid who finds standardized testing almost impossible, he really seemed like a magician to me.
I started working with Kamil late in my college process. Many tutors doubted that I had enough time to prep and were only willing to work with me as a sort of "second hand client". With only two months left before my last possibly act during my senior year, Kamil and I worked day and night to achieve my goal score. Often meeting before and running after midnight only to see each other at six the next day, Kamil and I turned my test scores around to help me get into Cornell University. Kamil is kind, conscientious and committed. For him, standardized testing tutoring is a calling. He is his own brand.
Charles is an excellent tutor! He was professional, helpful, and radically improved my math score for the GRE. If I had to take the test again, I would absolutely hire Charles again (but thankfully, I don't, because he helped me so much the first time around!). If you're looking for a tutor to help you achieve real results, you've found him.
Samantha is great, really patient and kind. She helped me with several papers and my grades have improved considerably. I will definitely use her again. I highly recommend Sam to help anyone improve their grades. (:
Eve was an outstanding tutor for the ISEE. We hired her with just 6 weeks to go until the test - we had been using a New Haven-based tutoring company that just was not doing the job - in that very short period of time Eve managed to coach our daughter from the middle of the pack (ISEE steniles 4 and 5) toward the top (stiles 6 and 7). Plus she was very flexible about scheduling and was amenable to meeting our daughter in New Haven. We only wish we'd enlisted her sooner! We will definitely seek her assistance for our next set of test preps!
we hired Hallie to tutor our hs junior son for the april ACT. she was pleasant, courteous and effective. he scored 33 and we are very very happy with the outcome.
I am in the military, I work full time, and I travel a ton. I started using Target Test Prep after I had already gone through a popular in person 6-week course with another company and could not get above a 610 on the GMAT. A friend urged me to try Target Test Prep. Initially I was reluctant because I am not a big fan of computer based learning. Target Test Prep quickly changed my perspective on what can be gained through a computer based medium, and especially what can be accomplished online with the incredible tutor Target Test Prep has. I started Target Test Prep (TTP) on September 30th 2016 and started working with Jeff (the Tutor from TTP) a few weeks after that. By November 12th 2016 I scored a 650. This is when I started to get serious with TTP. Based on that improvement, Jeff encouraged me to have faith in the platform, follow the curriculum, and work with him. I took his advice and alongside the curriculum, I met with Jeff (on average) once a week until the end of December and scored a 710 on December 29th 2016. I know that if I continued to work with Jeff and use TTP, my score would likely go even higher, but a 710 was good enough for me and met the balance I needed between a good score and time invested. I am very grateful to Jeff and Scott for their excellent curriculum, and I am especially thankful to Jeff for the advising, encouragement, and incredible insight he provided me, and for the excellent instruction on how to solve GMAT problems efficiently and consistently. I would recommend TTP to friends, as I have already. A good friend of mine just bought TTP based on my recommendation and has started working with Jeff. A couple of our mutual friends are considering doing the same after seeing the success I had, as well as the momentum my friend is gaining already. If you are stuck on the GMAT or don't know where to start, this is the program for you! Thank you TTP for helping me put a swift end to this painful GMAT process!
Horace has good intuition on how to motivate a student, which is a rare asset in the test prep world.
We all know when it comes to the SATs there is guaranteed to be a lot of stress. As a sixteen year old high school student going through the SAT process, I can vouch for this. My anxiety began months ago. I admired people who had started their SAT prep a year before, while envying students who were just naturally good test takers, scoring 2000 and up; however, when you dont fit into either of those categories you start wondering what now? At that point an SAT tutor seemed like a good idea. Enter Danny Ahn. The first time I met Danny, I was unsure what to expect. He understood my confusion and began to structure a plan of action. He soon established the level I was at in English and Math, and then focused in. After a few sessions I began to understand the kind of approach required of me. I have worked with Danny Ahn weekly since around late October or early November, 2013 and our work is ongoing. It is now Feb. 17, 2014. I have found Danny to be a good communicator and listener. He is dedicated, nurturing, focused, and hardworking, going beyond his allotted time with me to help me achieve my goals. He genuinely cares about my mental well being as well as my academic standing. He is readily available on the phone and via text, and has proven to be accommodating with regards to scheduling. I believe that Danny is pushing me in the right direction and I am feeling increasingly more confident with regards to the dreaded upcoming SATs. Danny has an excellent understanding of the SAT requirements and I feel that with his continued guidance I can achieve my goals.
Extremely helpful and efficient!
Excellent help with son for college prep test and with study skills.
Jim ran a multi week SAT prep course for 7 students at a local underserved high school. He was excellent with the students. Extremely positive and upbeat. Always prepared and on time. Very focused and disciplined with the group. Feed back from all students very positive. Yes he went above and beyond
As a professional, Katya helped immensely with my memory skills, my reading speed (through speed reading techniques), and also even enhanced my ability to math on the fly (in my mind, without paper and pencil). Her online classes are a wonderful supplement to her face-to-face. I often refer students seeking SAT and ACT prep and she also over-delivers. 5 stars for sure!
I was a part of a small SAT prep group and one of the most helpful things that we did was work on problems together. Often SAT prep and the like are very solitary learning experiences but learning in a group setting made it much easier to understand
Max helped me prepare for my GRE exams, particularly for the math section. It had been a while since I had practiced many of the skills for the exam, and he was not only thoroughly knowledgeable, but also excellent at teaching me how to solve the problems at my own pace. The topics we reviewed ranged from algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and some calculus. Any time I have a major exam in the future, I will definitely be using Max as my preferred tutor!
Even though I have lived in America for a few years, when I needed to study for the GRE I knew that I would need a tutor to get good score. Dwight was a fun and knowledgeable tutor who makes lessons interesting and really focused on my weaknesses to help me get better. I would recommend him to my best friend.
Han was very thoughtful and detailed oriented

Hi, this is Jennifer Dziura from Manhattan GRE! I've gotten perfect scores on the GRE twice, written or contributed to more than 10 test prep books you can buy at any Barnes and Noble, and, much more importantly, I've helped over 2,000 people conquer the GRE, GMAT, and SAT, and move on to the real things they want to do in life. I have successfully worked with students at the extremely elite end of the spectrum, as well as students with major learning disabilities. I have both gotten Wall Street bankers into Wharton and explained percents (and why they are exciting!) to discouraged ten-year-olds. Here are some recent quotes from our anonymous, in-class evals: "Jen was very engaging and knowledgeable. She was enthusiastic about the material, and I felt that she really wanted us to succeed. She was funny, too!" "Very knowledgeable. I greatly appreciated her ability to provide real-life examples for all difficult topics. She was also consistently enthusiastic and very approachable for questions." "She is arguably the best teacher I've ever had, at any level, in any subject."
