Introduction: Hi there! My name is Joan. PLEASE READ ALL THE INFO BELOW. NOTE! I AM LOCATED IN NEW JERSEY. UNION CITY. CONVENIENT TO HOBOKEN, UNION CITY, JERSEY CITY & WEEHAWKEN. I am only doing in person sessions. I do not do virtual training. I am a strength coach. I own my studio in Union City, NJ where I train my clients 1-1 (and maybe you!) in a private, clean and safe space. I am on the border of Hoboken, Jersey City and Union City. I own my own private training studio, so it will be just YOU and I. My studio has a free parking lot for all visitors. I am a certified Strength & Conditioning coach. I hold a Master’s Degree in Exercise Science & Nutrition. I have 14 years of experience working with a wide variety of populations. 10 years in NYC + 4 years in Hoboken & JC. Let me help you get strong and feel good. My world is entirely fitness and wellness. My ultimate goal is to give you autonomy over your body, to bring your strength to light, to meet you halfway with what you seek and what you might need. Joan is absolutely phenomenal as a trainer! I've been working with her for only a month and i feel I've gained SO much knowledge and strength. I Already lost 6 pounds, I can hip thrust 135 pounds and can even do one chin up!!!!!! I was hesitant to commit but after just ONE session I feel confident I'll be continuing for at least a year. I feel I'll get so far in a year with Joan! When I met her, she sat me down and learned everything she needed to know about my exercise history, likes/dislikes, injuries, everything! And her studio is SO cute. She cleans it daily, i feel super safe being there. I'm so happy I made this leap!!!

I’ve been working with Joan for about a month now and I couldn’t recommend her more! I was nervous starting out because I’ve never had a trainer before, so I wasn’t sure what to expect, and she made me feel so comfortable before we even met! You can see how much she loves what she does and helping you become stronger, and she pushes you just enough. It’s crazy how she knows exactly what you can handle and makes you feel so confident in yourself. I see a difference in myself and what i can do in the short time that I’ve been working with her! I never thought I’d look forward to working out and I count down the days to go back!!

Joan is absolutely phenomenal. When I was browsing through trainers here, she was the only one who wasn’t saley and remained professional, patient and understanding of all my questions. Her background spoke for itself. I’ve been training with Joan for about 6 months now, 4 days a week and all I can say is, what an experience! Every sessions builds on the previous ones, she remembers all my little quirks, things I enjoy the most and things I don’t love. In 6 months I have grown to have such an affinity for working out, I’m kind of in disbelief. She makes the whole thing fun and engaging, it’s unlike any other trainer I’ve been with. I wasn’t even sure what I wanted when I found her but she helped guide me to the idea of what I wanted. I’m SO happy I hired Joan, she’s the trainer you want on your side to reach you and push you!

I started working with Joan when covid started taking over around April, we started with virtual because it was our only option. Her willingness to do whatever it takes to work with me blew me away. She brought me some equipment to borrow while we work virtually so I could be challenged more. We transitioned to in-person in June when training was allowed indoors and thank GOD it was because she has educated me, challenged me, and progressed me faster than any other trainer I've worked with thus far. I had never touched barbell before I met her, she successfully took away my fears and hesitations. Pretty much the best experience with PROFESSIONAL strength coach.

Joan is phenomenal. I’m so incredibly happy I picked her to train me. I’ve been training on my own to become a female fire fighter and I needed very specific training, and so I was very hesitant to hire a trainer not knowing what to expect. Well, I was pleasantly surprised. It’s been 6 months of solid training and I successfully passed my physical exam. I originally planned to stop training after I passed but I just can’t imagine myself without Joan. I have learned more in this time than I’ve learned in my 30 years on this Earth in terms of fitness. I lost 15 pounds and lift weights I was always SURE I was incapable of. I wasn’t even planning to lose weight, I just wanted to pass the test!

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

    Each individual session is as the number you see above, that is one session. I do monthly, 10, 20 or 30 sessions. I do not do discounts or negotiate. This dilutes the work. If you were paid monthly, I’m certain a person wouldn’t like to receive a discounted income because they’re being paid less frequently in larger sums, same applies to my work. Prices are non-negotiable.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

    I start with a sit down chat to get to know you, what you want to get out of our time together, what you want to learn, your intentions, scheduling, etc. Then, a movement and mobility assessment, depending on the type of training. And finally we begin!

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
