Writing with Diana

Introduction: With 35 years of experience as an educator and writer, I’m a tutor with many years of experience and a unique set of credentials. I‘ve worked both as an English and journalism teacher in high school and college, and served as an advisor for weekly high school and college newspapers, editing hundreds of student essays. I also taught English as a Second Language at the college level, giving me experience with English language acquisition, and worked as a substitute teacher, showing me how to get up to speed quickly with different students and how to work with students with special needs. I’ve also worked as a professional journalist, writing hundreds of feature articles that have been published in magazines and daily newspapers. I think the two things I like the most about tutoring are having the opportunity to meet so many interesting people, students and parents alike, and having a feeling of accomplishment working one on one with students. I feel that I have made an impact on all of my students in English, journalism and English as a Second Language classes, but working as a tutor has been especially rewarding for me because the students all make important improvement in their writing.
