As an Interior Designer I needed to have a carpenter put up barn doors, hired James and he did such an excellent job! I am now using him to put up refurbished barn wood up, building an wine cellar entrance and shelving out the home. James is a perfectionist and master carpenter, I really enjoy his creativity and his pinnacle work. So glad I met him and will use him on all my projects for sure. Thank you, European Flair Designs LLC

Professional job in installing crown and chair rail moldings almost 600 liner feet. Did many customized work for the chair rails. Price is reasonable but on the higher end of range. Work is completed longer than original planned, probably in part because of the strict restriction of the rules of our high rise building.

James did a great job. Quick to respond and he did better work that expected. My simple plan was made beautiful. Kept the project under budget to boot! I am hoping this turns into more as I look forward to working with James again.

James took my request for a queen size Murphy bed for my sewing room and designed one incorporating the overhead cupboards I needed, a pull-up table and design to complement the rest of my home. He is an artist and the work is of great quality. This was so much more than I had hoped for when we embarked on the project! I wish I could add the photos!

FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

Since I was a young teenager, I have loved the natural beauty of wood. In high school I gravitated towards art, architectural drafting and wood shop. Following many years in the US Navy, I went to work in residential construction and developed my skills as a carpenter/remodeling professional. I framed houses and additions and gradually worked more and more with interior/exterior design and finish carpentry. I then began making my own furniture and fell in love with it. I quit the remodeling business in 2010 and slowly awakened the artist within. Now, I have fun creating amazing works of art with wood, paint, and stain. And a few other elements....

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

That I have learned to follow my passion. In this, and only this will we truly find happiness and success.
