Dru from Grandpa's Handyman Services was very professional overall. His customer service was great and was very personable. I had my stand up shower tiles regrouted and I am satisfied with it's outcome. He took his time to ensure good quality work which is hard to find from most contractors in any trade. I was given a flat charge out the door for the job requested which was very generous and worthwhile given the amount of QUALITY hours it took for completion. I would definitely recommend him for your handyman needs. Thank you again Dru for your time and the great work.Dec 11, 2019Verified
Dru Smith owner of Grandpas handyman did an excellent job on about 6 projects which required great skill and perseverance and special knowledge. He was very professional and interesting to talk to but he always brought his focus back to getting the job done right. I will be using his services again and recommend him highly. Overall, this guy was awesome, for comparative purposes I will tell you that I had already tried with THREE other contractors and a local handyman in my area, they all came out to look at my roof, hemmed and hawed and said they would "get back with an estimate..." only one did and it was $8,000. Then I looked on the internet, found "Thumbtack," and eventually got "Grandpa's Handyman," well, at first I was almost worried by the enthusiasm shown for taking on the project, there are so many people who SAY that they "can do" but then when they get started they just "don't do" or don't finish. In this case I was pleasantly surprised, this one guy (Drew) shows up the next day all by himself, and starts on the relatively large and complex job of tearing out the old rotted roof, rebuilding and re-sloping the roof, installing new insulation, and finally re-roofing about 1,200 square feet of roof. No stops, no stalls, no slow-downs, just work, and I would pay him every day for a days work and get any stuff he needed from the hardware store for the next day's work. Kept things simple and straight forward the way I like it, at any time I could have said stop and that would be that, UNLIKE a contractor who usually takes all the money upfront and you have to just hope they will finish the work, this guy kept the accounts square with me every day, and things ended up costing less that half what that other "professional roofing contractor" would have taken just to start work. What I really liked was that we talked BRIEFLY, I told him what I wanted, he got started and things just proceeded exactly as I had wanted, no stupid mistakes or mishaps (for example the last professional roofers had cut telephone lines and such), no accidents, no fires, like I was worrying about, just work until the job was done.Jun 27, 2019Verified
Grandpa Handy Man Service did a fantastic job on my Pergola! My pergola was falling apart due to its age and we has gusty winds that tore my pergola apart. Grandpa Handyman rebuilt it and I was amazed how he managed rebuild it. It did take a little longer to finish because of challenges to rebuild it. But at the end, I was totally surprised! Because it took a little longer, he charged me a flat rate instead of hourly rate. And he spent many hours fixing my Pergola. I was pleased with his service and pleased with his price. He also fixed other my front door and outside faucet at NO extra cost. Grandpa’s Handyman is a man of his words. His knowledge and experience are remarkable! I will definitely recommend Grandpa’s Handyman for your fixer upper!Oct 4, 2018Verified
