Introduction: I approach tutoring as I plan to approach teaching when I get my degree. I like to pin point the students learning style and go from there. I strongly believe all students learn differently and not everyone can understand a simple way of learning one subject. Then after we come to the end of the subject matter we are going over, I make sure they understand what they did, and proceed with ways they can adjust their study habits to coincide with their learning styles.
I love the kids, I really do. To sit beside a student for even just an hour at a time and watch them get frustrated and upset because they over think their assignments brings me back to my past and why I chose to become a teacher. Too often teachers teach just one solution to a problem and they don't express interest in the differences of learning styles among their students. It is my personal goal to approach any and all learning styles so that I reach as many students as possible.
