When I came to Rocky I had had many years of experience as a young musician (trumpet and baritone) back in my high school days. But it had always been a desire of mine to add piano to that list. Now as I approach retirement those dreams can finally be realized. I have learned more about music theory in my first month with Rocky than all my previous years combined. Additionally, Rocky continues to impress as he works with this new keyboard player, combining great patience while offering consistent encouragement. For someone so talented I am continually impressed by his ability to create in the student the conviction that he is truly interested in being able to inspire, even at the beginner's level - a level he left years ago! Thanks Rocky!
I just relocated to the Henderson area. I have been banging out cowboy chords on a guitar for years, but recently got my first electric and a burning desire to learn some lead, blues, CW riffs and better technique, knowledge and command of the fret board. After interviewing and meeting with 4 other teachers, I am happy to report I chose Jeff. Jeff knows his stuff, is prepared, is respectful of my time and efforts, is knowledgeable about music, music theory, guitar technique and can effectively transfer his knowledge to a student in the way that particular student learns. All while having fun! Prior to my first lesson Jeff asked me for examples of what I'd like to learn. At my first lesson he had a notebook prepared with fundamental technique for me to practice, music tabbed out that I had mentioned, and a lot of good material for me to practice. I was playing some cool stuff immediately. My wife was surprised not to hear the usual from me when I got home. I chose Jeff for his skill and knowledge, his approach to teaching and for what seemed would be a fun learning experience. I chose well and I can comfortably commend Jeff Colvin to anyone wishing to learn and improve on the guitar.
First I liked her lesson. She is very passionate in music which is good for students who wants to learn the music out there. I think Pat has lots of talent you can learn. So do not hesitate to start having a lesson with her. It would be a great choice for sure!^^ Thank you Pat:) Sunny
Patrick Worley is the best music teacher I ever had and that is not an exaggeration since I have been playing guitar for 32 years. He has been teaching me music theory which have helped my to fill gaps of knowledge and comprehend song structure better. I have no doubt he can teach everyone from beginners to professionals.
Two years ago, I decided that I wanted to learn to play guitar, and write my own songs. After extensive research of locations, pricing, credentials, and online reviews; I decided to give Tommy at Over the Mountain Music School a call. I am so glad that I did. I like the fact that music theory is taught in context of songs that I wanted to learn to play. Being in my mid 40's my tastes in music gravitate towards the 60s through the 80s. But in talking to other students I see that the repitoire of material taught ranges from Taylor Swift to Black Sabbath, to Jazz standards, regardless of style theory was introduced, making me not just a better guitarist, but a better musician, now capable of writing my own songs and exploring my own ideas. There have been many examples of Tommy's going above and beyond as a teacher. One that particularly made an impression on me was when I wanted to learn to play "The Fountain of Lamneth" by Rush. It is a long tricky song with numerous key and time changes. For months I searched for an accurate arrangement. Tommy took the time to transcribe a 17 minute song and teach it to me. He nailed it I can't express strongly enough how dedicated and passionate a teacher Tommy is. I always look forward to lessons and am amazed at how quickly my own development as a musician has been. Great school, great teacher, fair pricing and dedication make this an outstanding experience. Thank you Tommy for all you do
Vince is a great teacher and a producer. I have been working with him since May and I feel I have got a tremendous improvement in songwriting, and using software such as Sibelius and Pro tools. He is very knowledgeable in every aspect of music; music theory, pro tools, guitar techniques. If you are looking a music teacher to guide you through your dream, he is definitely the one to look for!
Danny is a very experienced musician and knows music theory like the back of his hand. He taught me the fundamentals of theory which allowed me to understand and look at my guitar in ways I never have before.
Been with Nick for one month and he has been great. He has taken me help me to correct errors in my fingering and is stressing the importance of structure in how I practice daily. He breaks down music theory in a way you can understand. I'm am truly enjoying working with Nick and would highly recommend him to anyone who wants to get into playing guitar!!!
Travis is a wonderful teacher to my two kids, ages 8 and 5. My kids enjoyed him as he made his lessons enjoyable and he taught piano in a way an 8 year old and 5 year old can understand. He is also very thorough and knowledgable. It makes learning piano fun and easy! Thank you Travis!
I have two daughters who have been taking lessons from Robert for over 4 years. One is a pianist and the other is a guitarist. We have had other teachers but Robert is the only one who has taken a personal interest in the girls development. Robert is very professional and a very talented musician. My family highly recommends Robert to teach music to both young and old. He not only teaches how to play an instrument but he also teaches you music theory and how to apply it for self fulfillment or to be a paid musician.
I met with Erickson for vocal lessons and I can say he was extremely helpful. He taught me to really listen to the music in order to improve my singing. He also taught me the easiness of singing. His work is fantastic and I recommend him to everyone!
I cannot express enough what an excellent instructor, Pianist and person Dr. Campbell is. Miss Bethany has been the instructor for our son for about 2 years now. She is very professional, but fun and lighthearted at the same time. My Son absolutely loves and can't wait for his lessons each week. She has a profound way of connecting with each student and bringing the best out of each one. I highly recommend Dr. Campbell.
My son just had his third lesson, the first being a diagnostic lesson. Mr. Emata, in his initial contact, demonstrated his passion for teaching and his broad knowledge base of music theory. He is just what we have been looking for. Couldn't be happier so far.
Got stuck learning drums on YouTube so I called Sean and within two weeks I knew how to read music and he had me drumming beats I thought would’ve taken me years to learn and when my daughter was born we switched to guitar and kept going
I am an adult student who has been taking piano lessons for 3 months. Anna is so gifted and talented and has an amazing amount of patience. She is absolutely the best. I couldn't have asked for a better instructor. I'm so thankful I found her.
Absolutely INCREDIBLE. I have 4 children and all have gone to Ms. Damaris, from young children all the way until leaving for college. My family has tried many "teachers" before finding her, none came close. Ms. Damaris isn't just a teacher, she is highly educated classical musician, and has been teaching piano master classes and in Universities and colleges all over the world. I love that she has world knowledge of music, not only teaching just how to play, but also theory, technique, performing and reading music, best of all passion! plus she is a judicator for competitions so you know she has what it takes. She has prepared my children for their competitions and I have seen firsthand the success and the respect she gets from judges on how well her students perform. She's not easy to get a spot with, and truthfully surprised to see she has openings, but if you are lucky enough to get your child in with her you'll see how incredible she is, you can look her up online anywhere and see the successes she has with students and her performing herself. Good Luck. Lisa. Happy mother of 4 incredible musicians all from Ms. Damaris.
I had been playing bass guitar for a year already, when I decided that I had to kick it up a notch. I was referred to Vince Lauria by a friend. Little did I know I was with the best music instructor in Vegas. I've been taking lessons twice a week for the past 2 years, and love every minute of it. Vince somehow finds a way to teach so much in so little time and still make it fun. Even when I was overseas taking lessons via email, they were still challenging and exciting. He uses a different style of tablature that makes learning songs and melodies twice as easy. He is extremely knowledgeable on numerous instruments ranging from the banjo to the piano as well as different styles of playing. Music theory lessons with him have not only exponentially increased my playing ability on bass, but expanded my understanding of how music is composed. After recently coming back from an audition and tour at Berklee College of Music, Boston I realized that Vince had been preparing me all along by using the same style of teaching that the professors use! I would not hesitate to recommend him to any musician in the country.
I teach autism music and sign language. I also have a great time. Money on your computer and the rest of your home address are being protected from disclosure under applicable law enforcement agencies, and the other hand is an institutional grant for college.
I teach practical application of music theory, bass guitar, double bass and bowing. I fast track you into reading charts and notation and how to paraphrase "on the spot" charts. In other words, how to become a pro quickly.
I have a Bachelors of Musical Arts in Viola Performance from Penn State University. Furthermore, I have played piano for 20 years; I played piano as my secondary instrument in college and have been both a soloist and an accompanist.
