karen is my favorite Pilates instructor I have found in my practice ! She is always coming up with new sequences and pushes you to your limit in the best way! I started new to Pilates and Karen helped me really love the practice and advance outside my comfort zone. Karen works with me and she is extremely professional and knowledgeable about the body. Spends time to evaluate what your strengths and weaknesses are. Explains in detail why certain movements would help build my strength. She is very patience and does not rush. I would highly recommend her.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

    In the first session, I do a physical evaluation and what are her/his goals and needs and then we will set up a customized plan to target the best way to achieve goals.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    Karen majored in Physical Education (EF) at the Methodist University of São Paulo. In 2013 she earned a postgraduate course in Specialization in Physiology and Biomechanics of the Musculoskeletal System Rehabilitation and Training at the Orthopedics and Traumatology Institute of the Medical School of the University of São Paulo(USP). In Chicago, USA, she got a certification in Integrative Core Training for Baby Boomers & Senior, Designing Programs at The Institute For Integrative Health And Fitness Education. Karen had the opportunity to work with a variety of people counseling them on important health and nutrition issues. After experiencing her first Pilates class, Karen discovered a connection between body and mind that spawned her passion for Pilates. She is certified through the Body Arts and Science International (BASI). She has expertise to use Pilates as a key to improve spinal conditions, physical limitations, aging and senior health issues as urinary incontinence and muscle loss."
