Voluptuous Vocals

My name is Sallie Mae Johnson. I have been singing since I was a young child, but I have been performing since I was 13. I have taught vocal lessons here and there over the last several years, but I recently decided to do it full time. I cant imagine life without my voice. When I was a little girl, I used to constantly think about how I wanted to sound. I'd listen the the artists I loved over and over again--trying to figure out what they were doing, so that I could incorporate it into my own voice. I would choose big massive ballads to practice, knowing that they were out of my range, but striving to extend my range and my belt to achieve the ability to sing the song with ease. The joy I would feel when I achieved these goals was immeasurable. I have performed in over eight countries, all before the age of 20 and within that time, I found that being a vocalist isn't just about performance. It's about finding your inner voice and being confident within it. That confidence will not only guide you through your journey as a vocalist, but if you are able to harness it, it will guide you through your journey in life. When beginning vocal lessons with me, we will focus on vocal technique to increase your vocal range, build vocal strength, blend smoothly between head voice and chest voice, achieve mixed voice and belt coordinations, master multiple musical and vocal styles, sing high notes with ease--to create a well-rounded vocal technique. But most of all, we will work to find your inner voice and confidence within it.
