Paul's Vegas Photography was chosen as photographers for our daughter's Las Vegas wedding. They exceeded our expectations. They provided two exceptional photographers. Both were friendly, easy to talk to, professional, and we'll prepared. The event site was a new venue for them. They prepared by meeting with the restaurant manager and reviewing the site a day prior to the wedding. The photographers had excellent timing. They covered all the major events. They knew the timing of events and covered them thoroughly. They utilized time between events to complete both candid and posed photographs. We couldn't be more pleased with our choice Paul's Vegas Photographers. The quality of their service and the actual photographs were exceptional. We would recommend their services to anyone needing a professional photographer in Las Vegas.

Extremely pleasant to work with and loved the final product. Worked well with our photographer at the wedding. Went above and beyond (even helped my grandmother set up flowers before the ceremony). So pleased we hired David to film our wedding!

I had called Nathan on somewhat short notice after my previous photographer had cancelled due to a family emergency, and I'm SO glad I did! I needed to get some engagement shots done with my fiancé for our wedding invitations. He was very polite and professional and managed to work my shoot into his schedule the next day! He was even about 30 minutes early to the shoot location to scout it out and find the perfect spot. The pictures came out BEAUTIFUL and he was very affordable! I'd definitely recommend Nathan to my friends and family!! Thank you!

Out of all the reviews I have done today, my most favorite one to review Roy as our wedding photographer. When he showed up, I was so comforted with his calming demeanor and he went right to work coming up with amazing shots! There is no one else I would trust to make my day picture perfect. I am forever thankful for the amazing pictures that will last a lifetime. We loved him!!

The first thing you need to know about Eric is his professionalism far and away exceeds that of any other DJ we considered. We originally had a Band scheduled for our wedding because honestly many of the DJ's we spoke with seemed far too "cheesy" and "dated" for a contemporary wedding. Other DJ's on this site kept blowing up our phones with "rates", then things they could "do for us", then more "discounted rates" when we did not respond right away, and it seemed as though all of our original fears about cheesy DJ's were coming true. And then Eric called. Eric exuded a delightful confidence and calm on the phone. Never once did we feel pressured to add anything to our wedding reception like fog machines, lights, or any other "add-on's" we simply did not need. He spoke to us as though we were his only and MOST important clients. He walked us through his song worksheet step by step, sent us a very professional contract with easy to pay deposit options, and made sure we were confident our special day was going to flow along smoothly. Regarding his performance: I am an executive of a Fortune 500 company and have attended corporate events, private events, and everything in between. I have seen million dollar productions, celebrity performers and local performers. Eric's presence is as polished as any I've witnessed. His mannerisms on the mic remind me of a Ryan Seacrest, and his professionalism with the crowd in such a setting is truly remarkable. In reference to the music, Eric knows exactly when to slow things down and when to inject the party with the right amount of energy. His accomplishments as a multi-faceted DJ & MC are evident as his mastery of music and his craft are second to none. At the end of the night we left him a gratuity, but as I write this, wish it would have been larger. Hopefully this review will suffice. Should you require a DJ for ANY event, you need to consider Eric, for he is truly one of the best.

Do not hesitate in booking Derique! He is AMAZING! As a retired luxury bridal photographer, finding someone who was as skilled, meticulous and artistic as myself was the biggest anxiety of my wedding planning. I scoured the web and vetted tons of togs but Derique really set himself apart with his level of knowledge during my “so you think you can photograph” questionare haha! Beautiful photography, fantastic rate for such quality, punctual and so knowledgeable of the Vegas strip when aiding in my photo location search. Not only did he knock his work out of the park, he went above and beyond on a personal level as signing as our witness (just my soon to be husband & I eloped), taking us out on the town the following night to celebrate as if he had known us for years and then volunteering to drive us to the airport as a parting gift. As a bride who eloped, with only very few things being top priority (a great dress, great shoes and a great photographer was my list of must haves!) I couldn’t have chosen better with Derique. I left Vegas with a new husband, new go-to photographer and friend. Best trip ever!!!!

We hired Adam for a photo shoot after our wedding ceremony. He met us at our hotel, we rented a limo and he took us to all the wonderful Vegas spots. Vegas sign, Bellagio, Freemont, Container Park. I felt like a celebrity for the night. Adam is a fantastic photographer. We had the night of our lives and the pictures to prove it. Adam let us have our funny pics too, I treasure each and every photo taken.

Roger was my wedding photographer and I could not have asked for a better one! The venue I held my ceremony at assigned him to us so I had no prior knowledge of who it would be. My wedding package came with only photos during the ceremony but Roger went WAY above and beyond to get some photos of my husband and I both before and after. This gesture really sealed in a perfect wedding! I now have GORGEOUS and personal photos to remember the day by. Not to mention he was incredibly professional while simultaneously being hilarious and awesome. If I ever need anything done again I will NOT hesitate to hire Roger. If you need a photographer you don’t need to look any further! Thank you Roger for everything!!!

Tiago was very passionate, interesting and a fun photographer who really went outside of the envelope and pushed us to get the perfect picture on our wedding day. He was very prompt to reply to any correspondence before the wedding and answered any questions I had. I would definitely recommend Tiago if you want someone who is very passionate about their job and is willing to go that extra mile to make the photos that you are after become a reality! Thank you so much Tiago!

Everyone tells you that your wedding day goes by in a flash - they aren't kidding. I felt like I missed so much because my eyes were so focused on my groom and not crying. Thankfully Swoon (Cody) was there to catch all those special moments and details that I would have never caught. And he is sneaky! I didn't even notice him nor did the photographer; they worked in perfect harmony like a polished team despite having only met that day. Each was able to get amazing shots without conflicting with the other. The video he created captured the feel of the day and was so perfect that I started crying (again) when I got to view it. Cody worked with me on my ideas and song choices and managed to get everything I would want to remember into 4 minutes - including a very important kiss from my father that meant the world to me to have videoed (I didn't even tell him how special that moment would be for me, it's like he just knew). He is beyond professional and still comfortable enough to not stick out - almost like he was a cousin of mine, he just blended in while getting work done. His pricing was beyond reasonable for the final product; I would have paid double if I'd known it would end up so wonderful. I'm so happy that I was able to have Swoon video my special day! I would gladly recommend them to anyone and everyone looking to capture special moments or just needing video work done (I plan on using them again at the first chance I get!). I can't wait to share my wedding video with friends and have them "swoon" over the perfection of it all.

Newlywed Cinema's team was a blessing to work with. Their professionalism and creative nature to make sure that our wedding was captured in the best possible manner was outstanding! They showed up to our home for the getting ready video shots. They weren't in the way at all. I loved Luis's philosophy behind these moments "Pretend like the camera's aren't here". That definitely eased myself and all of my bridesmaids. We didn't have to pretend or script anything. Everything that was captured came naturally. The ceremony was captured from multiple point of views and got all of the close ups that we wanted! Thank you for that Luis. We cried our eyes out when we saw the finished highlight films. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

I've been putting off writing this review because I didn't know what to write. When I selected 4Spades they had no reviews yet. However, I decided to take a chance because the price was within budget and we really wanted a wedding video. There were technical difficulties and I didn't end up with one of the things that I wanted which was a full video of my ceremony. However, the highlight video is awesome and I love it! It takes me right back to that day every time I watch it! I think 4Spades learned from what went wrong and will hopefully put in place some backups to prevent the same difficulties that were encountered during my wedding. In hindsight I wish I would have asked a family member to video with their phone though, that would have been a good backup plan for me to make sure the ceremony was captured but I didn't think I needed it. Overall, I really appreciated working with 4Spades - they put in long hours to capture all the moments and they communicated very well at all times. I would recommend them and I'd probably still choose them if I had to do it again but I'd put some backup plans in place to make sure I got everything. 4Spades really tried to accommodate and help me get what I wanted and when they couldn't deliver - they did discount my package which I thought was fair. I know the problem we had wasn't on purpose. Technical difficulties happen and hopefully everyone can learn from it. I'm sure with each wedding they will just get better and better!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a videographer and what do they do?

A videographer professionally films weddings and other events and edits the footage to create film keepsakes or marketing materials for their clients. Wedding videographers record all the key elements of your wedding day, ceremony and reception, and then edit the hours of film during post-production to make a wedding video, social media highlight reels, and any other film features you choose. Wedding videography captures, in live action, your vows, the cake-cutting, the first dance, reception toasts, the decor, the guests and all the details of your day. Many wedding videographers also interview guests (based on an interview list provided by the couple) and incorporate the recorded responses into the wedding video. Event videography typically costs less than wedding videography, as events are shorter with less detail. The national average cost for event videography is $500-$760, while the national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. A videographer usually does not need to be licensed, but it is important to confirm they have insurance and good standing in the business community, as well as good client reviews. A great majority of the work happens during post-production. The pros watch and blend together the hours of footage they took (sometimes from multiple cameras) to capture the story of your wedding day or event.

How do you choose a wedding videographer?

A wedding videographer will create a lifetime memory for you from edited video footage of your wedding day, ceremony and reception. Choosing a wedding videographer starts with looking online at portfolios of their past work. There’s no need to talk to anyone unless you love what you see. Next, make sure they have good reviews and past client experience; don’t be shy about asking for references if there aren’t any posted online. When you find someone who has a style you love, ask if they are available on your wedding day. If so, it’s time to talk pricing. Be clear about your maximum budget, and ask what kind of packages they offer. Pricing will depend on the number of crew needed for filming, the hours they are required to be onsite, post-production editing, and the length of the final product. Talk with several wedding videographers to get a feel for what prices are like in your region. Nationally, the average cost for wedding videography ranges between $990 and $1,260 per event. Once you agree on a product and have a plan, get everything in a written and signed contract. Clearly state the details of what is expected for your wedding day and from the final product. Be prepared to pay a deposit to reserve their services for the day, then pay the remainder upon receiving the video.

How much does it cost for a photographer for a wedding?

Finding the right wedding photographer can make a big difference for your ceremony. Nationally, the average wedding photographer’s price ranges from $800 to $1,000, but costs can be much higher in areas like Chicago, New York or Los Angeles where some couples spend $2,000 to $5,000 or more for the photographer they want. Factors that can affect your wedding photographer prices include the photographer’s reputation and experience. Heavy hitters can command top rates, especially during wedding-season weekends. Day of the week also affects your cost. You may get a $200 discount on wedding photographer prices if you get married on a Friday in November rather than a Saturday in June. Time onsite is also an important cost factor. Hiring a photographer to snap photos from the moment you wake up until after last call at the reception is going to cost more than five hours of pictures during the day. Multiple photographers, special lighting, and videography will also increase your costs. Ultimately you want to find someone who has a style you love and can provide the number of edited shots you want for a price you can handle. Learn more about hiring a wedding photographer.

What should you ask your wedding videographer before hiring?

Finding the perfect wedding videographer doesn’t have to be stressful. Asking a few key questions upfront will help you find the right fit for your big day. Before talking with wedding videographers, research their work online. Look at their websites, business profiles and social media, and see what their finished wedding videos look like. If the style fits what you’re envisioning, it’s time to reach out. During initial contact, make sure you get along with the person. This is important since they’ll be interacting with you and your guests.

Your first question should be about their availability; there’s no point in going further if they’re booked on your wedding day. Ask to see references if they’re not readily available online. Next, it’s time to talk about money. Ask how they determine rates or what kind of packages they offer. When you settle on a rate and the services you want, make sure to have a written contract that outlines everything, including cost, length of time they film, what post-production will include, and when you can expect to receive the edited project.

When do you pay your wedding videographer and wedding photographer?

Most wedding videographers and photographers require a set deposit when you hire them. Wedding season is a busy time and a deposit secures that vendor’s services for your wedding date. It also protects the vendor if the couple changes their mind at the last minute, and they can’t find a new booking and lose work for the day. The deposit may be anywhere from 20 percent to  50 percent of the agreed-upon total price. Always get a written confirmation that your deposit has been received.

The remainder of the wedding videography and photography bill may be due in the week before to your wedding or on the day of the wedding. Other vendors may require a second payment immediately before the wedding and a third and final payment after the wedding video or photos are delivered. Each vendor has their own policies, so before hiring be sure to read, understand and agree to payment protocols. There is no requirement for tipping wedding videographers or photographers, but if you do want to tip them, the end of the reception is the appropriate time.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
